thread/
David Cassidy
I'm presuming bias is the aim of the game here?
David Cassidy.
Rice is the POTY for me.
As much as we like him at Rovers he won't even be our POTY. Conor McCormack's the best in the league at that position but Sives has been a colossus playing with a groin injury most of the season and still putting in performance after performance.Lafferty from Derry and Kavanagh from Pats honourable mentions.
Philly Hughes
Xano.
Tom - The original player
Craig Sives or Conor Mc Cormack.
To make things easy I'll give the main award to Sives and the young player of the year to McCormack.
Sives only started 19 league games and people are giving him POTY?!
Simon Madden, top pro
Eamon Dunphy.
Just to be different and steer away from the usual suspects - Gary Dempsey
Daniel kearns was different class but seen as how he was snapped up half way through I'd say either daryl kavanagh or Conor McCormack, David Cassidy was really good aswell and should be interesting to see if he sticks with shels next year.
I dont think there was any real stand out player this season like last with Richie Ryan.
Sives or Lafferty for me:D
McCormack, Kavanagh or Eoin Doyle.
I dont know how people can pick a player (apart from maybe their own team) when the most they could see teams is maybe 6 or 8 times in a long season.
I think 6 or 8 times is quite a lot to be fair.
Graham Cummins, consistant all year.
I'd have Murray as top Rovers centre-half - spent the most minutes on the pitch as far as I remember and McCormack the best player, so Sives and Rice would fall behind them and Dennehy for me...and Twigg too.
McCormack for Rovers, Corry anytime I've seen him for UCD, North and Greacen notable mentions.
Bray's dip in form, where we only won once - against Galway at home, coincided with Gary having a lengthy spell on the shelf with a back injury. His return to the team also coincided with our return to form.
As for POTY, Bray, Shamrock Rovers and to a lesser extent Dundalk and Sligo were the only teams that I saw much of. Dempsey, McCabe, McCormack and Danny North's names all stick out but I've no doubt forgotten a fair few. And in North's case, I only saw him a handfull of times so I have no idea if he was consistently good. (Yet I would oddly enough be confident in putting Gary Rogers forward as keeper of the year:confused:)
Have seen North and Kavanagh mentioned here from other fans. For the record the Pats player of theyear do was on Sunday and Evan McMillan won it comfrtably, ahead of Derek Pender, Stephen Bradly with Kavanagh in 4th place.
[QUOTE=Stevo Da Gull;1548099]. Dempsey, McCabe, McCormack and Danny North
You've got to be taking the p*** there. Total garbage for majority of the season.
Danny Lafferty or Daryl Kavanagh for me.
From a first division perspective:
Limerick: Pat Purcell
Overall from what i've seen it's a toss up between David Cassidy and Graham Cummins.
I wonder will Grahams victory last year cost him this year? Even though hes been better this year. Cassidy was the best player not at Cork City in the first division.
maybe the last minute winner gives it to Graham. super player
