Does anyone know if any of the LOI Clubs are sponsored be car companies?
Cork is Nissan, isn't it?
Edit : No, Cork are sponsored by Beamish.
Is it Pats are Nissan?
Yeah, Beamish now. We were Nissan Ireland at one stage alright.
Nissan are sponsor them alright, as per the website anyway.Quote:

Rovers have a sponsor 'partner' which is EP Mooney Hyundai, although it's still on the back of the jersey, but I think they've gone tits up.
They're definitely no longer around.
They started up again as Mooney's.
Gerry Cumiskey Volswagen used to sponser the shed. http://www.gerrycumiskey.ie/contentv3/
I don't think they still do but I'm sure they are still involved with the club in some way.
Any reason for the question in general?
(Just being nosy like)
Nissan Sponsers the Saints. Think this is the only one on Jerseys anyway!
We used to be sponsered by Nissan alright around the 2005 title winning season .
Might be an idea to put down the shirt sponsors of all the clubs since we are all consumers as well and should look after companies that support the League of Ireland if we can in some way.
Still prefer Tayto, sorry Drogheda.
Limerick's main sponsor is the Irish Greyhound Board.
So whenever I feel energetic I go for a run around Limerick's new greyhound track. Bord na gCon aren't thrilled by my patronage though.
Donegal Creameries are our main sponsor with the superb Daisy the Cow displayed on the front of the Jersey - Class.
Screw Dundalk's logo, we have the best in the land.
Bray Wanderers Main Sponsors/Partners
Main - Sports World
Back of Jersey - Lifeline
Club Partner - Tipperary Water
UCD have O'Neill's on the front of the jerseys this year. I think it was the only way we could guarantee we'd get the kits on time.
Schumi, I think you will find Tayto and Hunky Dorys are made by the same company (Largo Foods in Ashbourne) so I am sure they won't mind which brand you purchase.
Don't forget Des Kelly Interiors proud sponsors of Bohemian FC.
Walker's.
If you can count them crisps. They ruined Monster Munch.
(There's also a fair few local, small-time producers of farm crisps or some such, particularly in England I think. Not bad though)
I like the idea of supporting companies that sponsor other LoI clubs. Would it be an idea for all the CPOs from each league to get together and figure out how to coordinate advertising. eg. each premier league club allocates 9 advertising spaces around the ground (probably in the least valuable areas where the cameras don't point) then each clubs main sponsor gets to put one add in each ground. Cant imagine it would cost too much to do and the brands would get alot of extra exposure, making sponsoring LoI more attractive. The same could be done with one page from each clubs program.
Just a thought!
Not strictly true. Tayto just made them awesome. Did anyone ever see anything other than the cyclops on Tayto's packet?
Tayto had the licence to the name "Monster Munch" until Walkers came over here. I still fantasise about those glowing orange ones.
They changed the name to "Mighty Munching" on the entry of Walkers to Ireland.
Back on topic...
That post about cross-advertising amongst LOI clubs is a stonker of an idea.
I know that, but I did once (and once only) pick up a pack of the "new" Monster Munch, as made by Walkers. Horrible stuff. Not surprised it vanished entirely here, as far as I can tell. So yeah, it's now Mighty Munch, but Walkers did ruin "Monster Munch"
Stu, I accept you rationale. Haven't eaten them myself since. Having formerly worked for c&c I never allow myself walkers.
Macy, I did indeed type in munch but unfortunately my HTC decided that I meant munching, and who's gonna argue with a phone.
They are now back to the original name of Monster Munch. Tried them today (with all the talk here), they are totally different to what you get back in Ireland, and are rotten. What a shame, must have been all the e numbers.
That's the point - Walkers now own the Monster Munch name, but with different crisps. What was Monster Munch here is now called Mighty Munch.
what's the value of these deals. big difference between big and small clubs ....i'd say 50 000 for top PD and 5000 for bottom of the first............any ideas
It varies from club to club I'm sure but from what I understand we get closer to the 50k mentioned from Flancare though obviously that includes the ground name. Back of the jersey sponsor is very good too. Think it's 20k. Goes a long way to keeping us going each season, god help us if we were reliant on crowds.
