Paul White netted a late winner to give the Sporting Fingal Under-20 side an opening day victory over Bohemians last Wednesday.
The first Fingal goal arrived on 25 minutes following an excellent move from defence to attack. Ben Donohue and David O’Brien linking well down the right and Donohue put in a perfect cross to back post for David Gaul to head home.
Both teams were playing very well in particular Fingal’s central midfielder Karl Somers - a new signing from WFTA Under-17s - who covered every blade of grass and was a constant threat to bohs.
Bohs equaliser came ten into the second half when the genuine calls for offside were waved away leading to the goal.
A sloppy ten minute spell after this saw Fingal put under a lot of pressure and only for excellent defending from captain Robbie Gaul and his central defensive partner Lar Mahan would they have conceded again. kept it level.
Fingal manager Robbie Mohan then made three changes which ultimately changed the game by bringing on Kevin Boyd as a wide man on the right and Philip Hand at left back as well as replacing Mark Cashin with Paul white.
The vital winner came with Kevin Boyd putting in a terrific ball deep to the back post where once again David Gaul was lurking and he hooked it back for White to head home.

Pats v Fingal has been moved from tomorrow (Tuesday) to Wednesday in Richmond park and maybe called off if heavy rain persists.

Bohs 5-1 Shels ring any bells? Confirmed that on the Bohs site anyway.
Also, looks like Fingal beat Longford 7-0 (or maybe 7-1), though nothing on this year's 20s on either website.
Can anyone confirm that second one?
