Paddy's career at United wasn't that short - he was there for 8 years (1973 to 1982) but was a perpetual benchwarmer serving as backup to Alex Stepney and Gary Bailey. He did play 46 league games for United but that was in the days when you had a good squad of 13 or 14 players and once someone got injured you had to make do with some pretty average replacements. You're absolutely right and Charlie was also one of the first players to take advantage of the parentage rule to play for Ireland. I think Shay Brennan may have been the first and Charlie Gallagher was just a couple of years later.Quote:
