I'd like to see Kenny Cunningham get a job in the new management team. I think he would do very well.
All joking aside I think the obvious replacement really would be Liam Brady.
He's experienced in dealing with young players at the Arsenal Academy. Has a great working relationship with Trap so Brady would know exactly what the Senior manager would be looking for in terms of players and tactics so the U21 team/tactics could finally act as real support to the Senior squad as U21 players promoted to the senior team would have plenty of experience with Traps tactical style. As opposed to just being abused from a height by Givens.
People might say that Brady would never take on the U21 job due to his commitments with Arsenal but he has ambitions to succeed Trap in a few years time in the big job. The U21 role would be great experience for him, better even than the role he had in the senior team. With any luck a handful of the current U21s would be able to progress into the senior team in three, four years, if Brady did come to be in charge of the Senior team a lot of players would be familiar with his management style.
The FAI should be doing all they can to get him back in the international set-up asap, even if its on a part time basis.

I'm not nearly as sure that he tried his best. Maybe he did, and if so it should have been clear to him a long time ago that he wasn't the man for the job. Instead he lingered on like a bad smell until he was guaranteed something else. Hard top blame him really it's the FAI I'd have the main beef with, that said I wouldn't feel any sense of gratitude for Givens lame efforts. If I come across bitter it's probably because I am, it is 10 years in the making.Quote:

The U21 games would be on the same time as the senior games. So plenty of problems would arise in the situations where for example the U21 team would be playing away in Armenia while the senior team may be away to Russia.Quote:

There are plenty of examples of FAI employees who are "fired" or "step aside" or "step down" who are moved into other jobs in the organisation...it's ridiculous...
I also saw in one of the papers(Herald I think) the Noel King was the man for the job.....the man who has been in charge of the Senior Women's team for 12 years...and never qualified for anything. (Yes I know that the U17's qualified for the Euro semi-finals...but he has had his nose in that trough for the past three years if not longer....you'll eventually roll sixes if you roll the dice enough!)
Any views on this?
I'd like to see Brady myself. He has the experience and he has the right attitude from working with Wenger I think.
