cheers - just trying to figure out the breakdown of our budget (assuming it is the 260K figure in the DI in Dec.
The TV moneny , I presume the 35K is split between all the teams which are on TV?
How much does it cost to enter both leagues?
Isn't the affilliation fee for the Prem €40k?
If so, is the fee for the first Div €7k? Based on the Prize money breakdown.
I think it's about €10k, not sure.
Last year it was €17k for the Prem and €8k for the 1st.
Whats the point of an affiliation fee? The clubs are cash strapped as it is.
And to just to note how paltry the prize money is, talk of Fai commitment to the league.
You shouldn't get money for finishing last. Am I the only one to think that a 'prize' of 40K for getting automatically relegated is daft?
Given they get it back in prize money? I'd say the point is to inflate the prize money figures.
It was a lot smaller. And the FAI are struggling with Lansdowne as it is.Quote:

Which is why Platinum One should be running things (cue conservative Loi diehards with a fudge off with your platinum one)
I'll promise a zajillion in prize money. Which is why I should be running things.
Good on you then !

read this thread on fans' ideas of the P1 prosal, and what was unrealistic about it.
How did it offer nothing????
Anyone in this gaff NOT deluded? Clearly the fai arn't the ones to take us forward, whatever happened to genisis? They never lived up to their promises, so i say, get them out.
Then again, the clubs can't run themselves, which leaves one option.Platinum One.AIL or no AIL.
Here we go again. If the Platinum1 option was viable then the clubs would have went for it but it wasnt and they didnt. And dont give me that cr@p that the FAI and IFA would have witheld the European spots as a reason that it fell flat on its face. The Premier League broke away from the FA and formed their own league for bigger revenue and T.V. money and still held onto their European spots for the top clubs so if it could happen then it could happen now. Why didnt it happen? because it was pie in the sky stuff and just didnt add up.
It didn't happen because "it didn't gain support from the relevant authorities"
ie. Fai, Ifa and Uefa..The clubs (involved) more then wanted it, bar Linfield though they probably would've changed there minds once they got some sense.
It was vialbe but that was before the recession and prob would've fudged, whos to say it can't happen say after the current participation agreement..2012, would be a good time to set it up.
You must be the single most naive poster on here, Celtic Tiger.
I'm sure there are a few people that agree with me.
Whatever happened to free speech. And whatever happened to common sense?
I don't know. What happened to your common sense?
You'll agree I'm free to call you naive?
No-one agrees with you. That would be clear after the first ten times no-one agreed with you.
Seems like there'll be no hope of real change with this kind of attitude been shown on here.
What attitude is that?
With all due respect, if you read the thread I linked, you'll find that there were many supporters of teams who would have been included in P1's proposal for an AIL who came out against it. I include myself in that, as Limerick were apparently (and ludicrously) included. There were also fans (only from teams included if I remember correctly) who thought the idea had merit.
Why do you think those fans were against the P1 AIL?

Seriously, give it up fella!
Before you start criticing this league based on affilliations fees, you might to check out platinum one's model. The one where MOST money raiseed came from affiliation fees and non existing TV contracts
I would kill to see a better suggestion from people on this forum.
Not a big fan of over dramatic statements, are you?!
Anyone can propose anything. It's backing it up that's the tricky part. P1 saying they'll get x amount of
millions from tv doesn't match up (had a better word in there but dumbed it down for you) with the reality that the FAI have to pay RTE to show a highlights programme (and they have the international
side as leverage)
stop posting childish nonsense about ridiclulous plans, and start dealing in cold hard facts. This will help you deal with life after school too
