Karl Bermingham DOB 06.10.2009 Dublin Irish 6" 12st5lb Centre Forward Left Forward Monaghan Utd
One for thefuture if he is 6" and 12st 5lb at 1 month old guess what he would be like in ten to twenty years... got to be a good buy :D

Just had a quick scan through the list and these are just a couple that would be worth a look at as far as being a possibility of signing. Looking at that a couple of premier teams will most likely get some good deals on players wages wise.
I'd add John Lester to the list as an ex-Limerick player he may have an interest in signing.

I doubt if Bermo would go to Limerick. If he is moving on its most likely he will move to a team with Premier aspirations such as Shelbourne or back to Waterford.

If my information is correct I would very much doubt that you would have more money to offer than Bermo is on with us at the moment, that coupled with the fact that we finished ahead of you last season and will be hopefully holding onto most of the squad, would make it unlikely that he would choose to go to Limerick.

duggan should be a certainty. will be interesting to know what squad scully will put together.
well we are trying to keep it local and hiring in a team from dublin hasnt been our policy for some years now. Bermingham? big lump if yer paying him more them what we could offer then fair play to him cos hes not great. i think also playing in front of a crowd might be an added attraction of playing for limerick over for example...monaghan. Limerick will be going for promotion this comminig season. fair play to monaghan ye kept a squad together for a good run last season but honestly, with those players i can only see you bothering teams like shels, mervue and if there as bad as they were this season, harps.Quote:

As for playing in front of bigger crowds, you are right, that may be an attraction, playing for Scully may also be one and the fact that Limerick seem to be getting things together too, I just dont think he would make a sideways move like that when he was happy here.
As for him not being great, check out the goalscorer league for the first division this year. ;)
As long as we are bothering the teams you mentioned and keeping on the heels of the top 2/3 I will be happy and so should you, last season you were close to catching us and Wexford but it didnt happen so you should be happy if you are bothering us all next year too.

As for not being good enough for a First Division team chasing promotion, tell that to the Premier league teams who have been chasing his signature.
Totally agree about the crowds thing but there would only be about 70 people playing on the Astros during matches. Its like the Limerick problem with Junior clubs, we have a similar job to do in building bridges which we are working on. The new Astro is helping alot in that regard as we are not stinging them price wise and are very agreeable to times and dates they request as far as possible.

as you should be, as i am. 95% of all contracted players from all clubs are now out of contract, why should limerick or any club go chasing players? Limerick although not a rich club pay all their players for every week of the season, other clubs do not and if your a player relying on the few quid to pay college fees/mortgage/loans etc who would you wanna sign for?
