What a fantastic night
6,100 people at a LOI game and many many more looking for tickets
Unreal atmosphere that will surely get barstoolers more involved in going to matches if they watched it on tele

Well done indeed.
I hate saying it but City were getting regular crowds of 8-10,000 at games in 2004-5 and that has fallen away now. But its a good thing alright. Even if it opens up peoples eyes so they know there are games on and if they take an interest in a particular club then the clubs can only benefit.
Ok, i hold my hands up, it wasn't 'regularly' .... sheeze, give us a break, but there were a fair few 'bumper' crowds, where 5,000 was base and bigger games drew in crowds that we all said 'jebus, its brilliant see these crowds here.' (i was there for every game)
The was 7,000 at the last game in 2005? ok, if you believe that then ..... i'lll rest my case ;)
What do you mean by base?
Your average in 2004 was 4,033 and in 2005 it was 3644. See here.
I presume this is how we hear about the glory days of teams regularly getting crowds of 20,000.
Before the Shed end was redeveloped it could hold 8,000 handily enough
There was 8,500 - 9,000 there that night, no-one was turned away. People were getting in through the Horseshoe and everything.
The previous home game against Pat's had about 3,500 at it, when we were in the thick of it challenging.
lets all raise a glass to Rovers....
....and then throw it at the linesman! :D
I thought that the capacity of the stadium was actually 5,700 (Capacity of the original stand is 3,048 not 3,300 or 3,500) take away the 200 or so seats (which seemed a it ott) left for segregation and you have 5,500 not 6,100.
I presume they don't sell tickets to stand behind the goal?
That being said they probably could have sold 8,000+ tickets.
Ahh give it a rest would ya, for gods sake  My point still stands, its great to see Rovers get crowds of 6000 but it takes alot of work to keep them returning week in week out. I was merely trying to point that we once had good crowds and now look at us. 1,300 at our last game (did i get that figure wrong as well, just crucify me and be done with it
Fans were using the horseshoe to gain access without the club's knowledge, which is why the official attendance mentioned earlier in the thread is so far from the actual attendance.
There's been a load of crap going on in the last two years that no one would be bothered to defend, and I know you probably think you're the funniest poster ever, but the crap of recent years didn't go on under Brian Lennox, so your nonsense is best corrected.
The Rovers-Bohs match was 6,300, which is the capacity of the stadium. The Pats match weeks before was only restricted to 5,700 because the east stand wasnt fully finished. If you were at it you'd have noticed the empty blocks of seats at each end of the new stand.
I was at it and did notice the empty blocks hence the attendance of 5,4XX on the night. The first stand holds 3,048 and theres no way the new stand holds more than that. I'd love to see a proper capacity figure, not 5,700, 6,000 or 6,300....something a little less even.
