Time to be honest!
Is there a foreign club you follow?
I am a Stoke City fan, as well as supporting Bray. My dad was born in Stoke and lived there until he was 20, so that's who I grew up cheering on.

Everton though it doesnt really upset me if they lose and certainly not to the same extent as when Bohs lose...
Just keep an eye out for Derry City results from time to time.
Everton
Newcastle. Winning 1-0 as I write this.
Are Longford foreign?
Liverpool, im sure I mentioned this a few times before on here.
Manchester United. To be honest i liked them when i was a kid but theyve become less important to me since. Still watch them when i can and want them to do well but im not going to lose any sleep over them. To be honest seeing Irish people in english club jerseys spewing anti-english rubbish when i have relatives who are english has really started to put me off the premiership.
Ive been to a lot of Villa matches as well because their ground is quite close to where I have a few relatives.
If shels played united it wouldnt be a tough decision as to who to support.
liverpool for me.dont see the harm in it when you go to your local team too,id also keep an eye on trabzonspor in turkey because they linked up with us drogs on our messageboard and santos laguna in mexico cos i work with a mexican guy that is always on about them.the last two wouldnt bother me result wise really though,im not mypost or anything
Juventus. GUFC come first though.
I have a soft spot for dozens of foreign clubs but Chelsea, Marseille, Atletico Madrid and Stuttgart are the teams whose results I look out for most often.
Man United. And yes I am sickened that they're currently losing to Burnley.
No, but I did spend most of the last hour posting a photograph of a Dundalk player being head-butted after last night's match on a number of Ipswich Town forums.
Used to follow Unira, delighted they lost tonight. :D
Grew up cheering on Liverpool and still support them but not as emotionally attached to them as I am to Mons. My Granny was a massive Blackburn fan and one of my uncles lived in Chorley all his adult life and was a Blackburn season ticket holder until he died last year. Apparently he paid the electricity bill when they were about to go bust some years back so Blackburn are kinda a second club I cheer on (unless they are playing against Liverpool).
Supported Arsenal from the age of 10 - lived in Galway at the time before there was a local senior football team to support. Last time I saw them play live was back in the George Graham era though, and I've lived in London since and not bothered.
Otherwise, Colchester, because i lived there for a bit and did go and see them play a lot. Oh, and Galway watch out - Col U put 7 past Norwich two week ago, the Arse put 6 past Everton last weekend, so I reckon Bohs are due at least 5 this week......
I like Leeds
Huge Leeds supporter. Was a Leeds fan before I was a LoI fan but grew up watching highlights of the LoI on Soccer Stadium on RTE on a Saturday. Although Im a firm follower of the League here, Leeds are my number 1 and that will never change
Became a fan of Yokohama FC while living in Japan, and still check their results every week.
Liverpool, followed them more when I was younger, kind of gone off premiership football the past year or two, keep an eye out for them though and if theyre on telly I'll watch them.
The Norwegian Premier Division club Vålerenga are my other side - as I'm based in Oslo that constitutes most of my live football fix at this moment in time
Preston North End and Havant and Waterlooville these days. As I have an uncle in Havant I took to following them the season they had the cup run so I was at the early rounds and then it ended up in the 4th round against Liverpool.
I do tend to get around the grounds here when I can so often will travel to a midweek game and maybe the odd saturday to places like Shrewsbury, Cheltenham etc etc. I do tend to follow the FA Cup so I'll get as many rounds in as I can.
I'm more a fan of footy grounds. I love Chesterfields Saltergate (Used as Derby County's Baseball Ground in the movie 'The Damned Utd'. If ya see the changing rooms in the movie thats how they look at Saltergate. I love the asbestos roof in the main stand particularly with the floodlights on. Its a proper old football ground.
Many of the great old fashioned grounds are fading fast. I've been to Pride Park a couple of times and while its views are great and its super comfortable it lacks what I am used to as a fan from the league at home. It doesn't interest me in going back.
As Billy Bremer said
"everytime leeds concede a goal i feel like i have been stabbed in the heart"
Supported Newcastle as a kid, Have grown a hatred for English football nowadays probably because of a mixture of barstoolers and sky, give me La Liga anyday
Celtic. Thought i'd become the barstool republican I always aspired to be:D
When the fund-raiser for the brother walfrid statue in Sligo was started it got me interesting in the Sligo man who founded one of the biggest teams in the world. Got interested in the Irish diaspora who formed it and the history of the club itself aswell as the fans.
Sligo rovers comes first though but do support Celtic, sorry if it disappoints people that I didn't "cos their oirish"
Man United and Cardiff City are my foreign clubs.
Man United for me.
I always say I follow Gers. Just for the general craic. It's quite funny if i'm in town and someone asks who i follow... Rovers and Rangers!... i'm usually not talking to that person 6 seconds after i say that though.
Much better watching a highlights show when you don't know the scores, Football Italia on RTE2 on Mondays all those years ago is evidence of that for people who don't do it for Match of the Day
Anyway I grew up supporting Sheff Wed, quite like Hibs, Arsenal, Hellas Verona, Espanyol, Inter Milan and have started following the fortunes of HB Torshavn as well
Truth be told I'm pretty much sick of football though so when I say follow I mean something that Jebus at even the age of 18 would have spat upon as being the equivalent of saying 'I support fair play' when asked who I support in football
I 'supported' Manchester United when I was a kid but sure I was playing also playing that Gaelic football as well at the time but I wouldn't have been able to name 5 players let alone 11. This was also before I started supporting Dundalk.
A few years ago for no reason I had a soft spot for Valencia but not any more.
Now I just look out for Irish players on teams.
I also despise Glasgow Celtic but thats a post for another day.
Myself and a mate tried this out in Crane Lane in Cork a few times about two years ago, he'd say he supports Rangers at which stage I'd rabble rouse the people we were talking to against him before revealing my love for Hearts.
Can't for the life of me remember why we used to bother to be honest, but that's either down to becoming boring in my old age or the severe beatings we used to get at the end of those nights
