Hopefully its just rumour but story doing the rounds about a 140k tax bill??
heard it too, they have takin a stance with Cork City and now have to take same approach to Ramblers if they want to look impartial. The end could be nigh
Thats not what we were told:rolleyes:
Why would we or anybody be happy about it,sure most of us who bothered to keep our heads out of the chairmans h**e could see it happening. The club is in ruins and its down to that p*ick at the helm we can barely even field a team of locals....
no marty is down to fans being petty and not helping the club, this has happened previously in our history, people helped out the people who got us in trouble, beacuse the club always came first, but its the 21st century now so i suppose things do change,
Still doesnt mean that anyone here would be happy to see the club fold, you should really know at this stage he needs to go for the good of the club.People are walking away from the place and I for one wont step near the club as long as hes still there. Many more like me and its common sense he should walk away now but will he???OH NO not a chance hes gonna sit there and watch it crumble around him then blame everyone outside of himself for not helping.Pathetic
and the sad part hell be right,
the club has been in debth before, once just as big as it is now, people didnt walk away then, so why do it now,
football comes first everywhere in the world, but not in cobh,
Just because they were helped out before does not make it right or wrong,I cannot believe you are still defending this ****.If he had takin the first step towards recovery then maybe people would have gave a hand but instead he recruits a manager on a wage we simply cannot afford.Stupid move no two ways of looking at it
like what cutting pay, getting rid of a bar manager like ye all requested,
i dont agree with dave hill being paid either, but guess what no team weather worth millions or in debth of million ever agree to people being to much money, we would say that no matter what our curcumstances were, that a footballin issue,
heres an idea why dont you post something positive marty, or better yet help turn the club around at least that way when we do get back in the the first divsion you can say you done your bit, unlike the rest sitting behind there keyboards
What exactly have you done thats so active?? I actually play football and am currently involved in my own club and have no shame in admitting I will never be back down with Ramblers as long as hes around. You just dont get it do ya,but I wont be losing sleep keep dreaming anyway
i dont get it, so thats that, its a shame you let one person runing your love of the club,
but yet you criticsie people who are keeping the club alive, a club you have no involvement with, who are you to criticise the people that are there,
many people have let the club down, im happy i wont be at the bottom, but i wont be at the top either, and i wouldnt expect to be either, i support rams as much as i can, by buying a season ticket, draw tickets, and in the odd occasion i do drink i might head to the clubhouse to drink,
Well said DR and Points well made and ya it is time to either help the club or not. If not than fine. If yes than great. If you dont help.... dont give out about those who are trying to help in these exceptionally hard times to keep the thing afloat.Just wait for who you personally want in charge Marty and then Im sure all will be rosy. I for one will help both the current chairman and your guy when he gets in charge as much as I can as its the club I will be helping not the guy in charge as far as Im concerned.
I've never really commented on the whole issue of the Chairman as all I've ever had to go on was what I read on here and even then everything became clouded with all the bitching. Without wanting to oversimplify the matter though, can I just say that any Chairman worth his salt that presided over getting a club into so much debt and almost going to the wall (Peter Ridsdale anyone?) should resign on the spot.
Smacks of gross negligence to me and I personally wouldn't let anyone like that look after my spare change let alone oversee a turnover of tens of thousands
therin lies the problem,
1 - you help most likely itll go where it needs to go, (however theres a long shot the board are a bunch of conmen planning on fleecing rams for the last 10 years they have been involved with the club,)
2 - you dont help there is no money to go anywhere and the club closes,
do people honestly think the board are going to pocket the money,
Not sure what that response is about in relation to my post don but to comment on your point...it's not about whether I think the board might pocket any money, it's about their inability to handle it.
...and the buck should stop with the boss aka the Chairman.
well his term is up in february, hes not gonna walk away at this point, the question is will there be a club around by the time elections come around, as much as the board are hated they are still keeping the afloat, but nobody can guarantee it being here in february unless theres some kind of cashflow coming in,
why !!!!
you get a life, what a sad reply
its the truth just cause you are following the majorty and not supporting rams because "BW" is there, and NOT cause were in the A league doesnt make me sad,
i am supporting cobh ramblers for a cause, and that is to ensure the furure of cobh ramblers, you tell me how boycotting the club will ensure a future for the club,
that is a question, and if you dont have an answear, dont bother replying
still the same old crap going on .arguements all the time when there is only one solution, and everyone knows what it is ,the chairman should step down.End of story.Another promise broken with Celtic coming to Cork,he said at one meeting that he was 99% sure that they would be coming to Cobh. Please dont argue with this as this is fact weather you like it or not DR.
I know its none of my buisness but if nobody wants the chairman and ye are not sure if the club will be around by election time could ye not bring the election forward?
As a Dundalk fan who enjoyed many a good trip down to Cobh,i have to say it is awful to see where you are at right now.Hard to believe after the way club was when you beat us to promotion 2 years ago.
One thing i have to say though is that the only way to pull through it is surely for the fans to unite behind to club and go to the matches.Fans are what make clubs not chairmen.
But there always seems to be some sort of unrest down there, everytime i went up there a different local was complaining of something else behind the scenes.
Anyway...hope to see you back some day.
People will but theres no trust there at the moment, not sure weather there will be a club there next year but even if there is then not a lot of players will be attracted to us and any handy players we have now will move to the ever improving M.S.L
im looking forward to being elected,my campain manager is DR see him at the club or downtown,,,,,,
There will be a club and we will be back in the league and this time its all about the team, i will be putting my campaign together with DR and others
its time for change and time to put ramblers back on track,i say to you lets get rid of them all and start fresh. This mess has gone on too long,we almost lost the club fcs, lets not lose everything,
Im looking forward to a fresh approach at the club, although Ive no idea who you are you seem to be aware that the current regime has lost itself.Keep us up to date
