Does anyone know when the coin toss is on for the rights of home advantage for the League Cup Final ?

No point having it in Dalymount, as Bohs fans have made a big deal about telling everyone for the last two years how they don't care about winning the League Cup..... :o

"Following discussions with both clubs, it was agreed that the EA SPORTS Cup final will take place in the RSC. The two teams will compete for a prize fund of €15,000, as well as a guaranteed place in the 2010/11 Setanta Sports Cup."

What were these 'discussions'? I would have assume the coin toss was in the rules.

They clubs can come to an agreement if they like. Sometimes the smaller club agrees to play away to get half of the larger gate.

I just remembered Kildare did the same with us last year in the Cup when the first game was called off because of rain.

Derry City don't have 'discussions' with other LoI clubs.

Just on the subject of this thread, it brings back memories of the time our former chairman attended a coin toss via telephone.

It was indeed Adrian Duncan. Can't remember exactly what it was for now, maybe the toss for colours in the 2001 cup final. It was just amusing to think of someone not being able to see what side of the coin is showing but still "representing the club" at the toss.

I suspect that might have been for the order of the matches in the playoff against us that time. I think the coin toss was made in Whitehall immediately after our last game against Dublin City.

Yeah Bohs will be happy enough with that provided the WUFC 'part time' fans decide to show. For instance, when we got Derry away in the cup final a few years back Ollie was over the moon. Full house guaranteed.

John Delaney said it we allow Waterford home advantage for the league cup final then we wont get relgated so we agreed to play it in Waterford win win situation for both clubs

I remember something similar being said when w`ford were drawn at home v Cork in the fai cup a few years ago. Home fan turnout was shockingly low.

Bohs will bring 400-500 fans, willl Waterford have 1,000 at it?
Playing in Dalymount would probably attract 2,000- 2,500 and Bohs would get the bar takings, so no advantage to us unless we`re trying to keep Delaney sweet;)
