Can't wait till the game is out on october 3rd
Any new stuff on it? Think the be a pro mode could do with a re-vamp. I enjoied it but a few annoying quirks in it that need to be improved:
1 Can only play four seasons
2, Players don't age.
3. Players don't tire
4. Clubs don't transfer apart from the one invloving the player you control
Can I assume then they haven't extended the League here to First Division then?. Won't be purchasing it. I was disappointed that you couldn't get an Irish side into Europe and there's no cup competition.
The transfers situation surprised me. I think Declan Boyle at 35 as he is in the game was snapped up by Liverpool when I stuck him in for transfer. Sligo Rovers took Gary Beckett too which was nice of them.
I hate the fact you cannot tackle the keeper and the tackles and outcomes are so predictable. Maybe its asking too much but I don't want the same result everytime and I'd like to be able to pull a shirt or nudge a player. I only remember one game in my time that had that. Had it on my Sega I think back in the 1990's and there was an indoor football element to it too. That was a cracking game.
You won't be buying it because of one or two minor points that aren't even relevant to how the game actually plays?
Why anyone even wants to play the CPU is beyond me, that was the 20th century way of playing games as there was no alternative, why play the computer when you can play another person just as easy
Also this thread is about FIFA 10 and not any previous ones, so your closing comments are kind of irrelavant, wait until it's actually released before you go saying ''i hate the fact etc.....''
There was a hands-on review released today on Eurogamer, sounds very encouraging, there'll be no more ''Hold L1 and press Triangle to chip pass it through to Ronaldo up front'' which a lot of players abuse, loads of little additions that sound helpful

Can you confirm what you mean by this ? I'll speak to someone and see if it can be changed for Fifa11 (it's too late for 10 probably) - it sounds like it's just a case of something being left off a list.
About the cups, I think it's a licencing issue.
This should be fixed now in fifa2010, all of the transfers in manager mode have been re-done, so its unlikely such a thing would happen now.
Anyone play the demo of this yet? Downloaded it yesterday and played a few games, i like it. Gameplay is quicker and more fluid, shooting is better, doesnt seem to be the same thing over and over again either.
Dont know what to make of the 360 dribbling though, doesnt seem to be very 360 degrees but its definately alot better than last years.
Played the demo on 360 tonight and it does seem very good. I'll be tempted to buy it.
I also downloaded it for the Xbox yesterday and was quite pleased. The gameplay is very smooth (especially since '09 was already a big step-up in that area).
Downloaded both PES10 & FIFA10. I prefer PES at the moment but the features of FIFA look to be better than PES when the full games come out
I taught PES was terrible, the players move like robots and it feels like an arcade game all round.... they haven't changed it in years, they would have been better off leaving it for two years, building a new engine and refining it, instead it seems to the same PS2 style engine with improved graphics....
.... Oh how the mighty have fallen, thank god EA got their act together just in time for Pro Evo's collapse, imagine having NO footie game to play ........:D
Played one game of it yesterday. Found it alot more fluid to play. The pace is a little faster and the AI of the computer seems to be better.
There's been a major glitch(of sorts) exposed over on the (official) FIFA forum.....
The R1/RB + Shoot- finesse/placed shot is too accurate from distance, i didn't pick up on it initially as i never use that from distance, so i assume many others would be unaware.
For a near certain goal every time, you take an angled run at goal, hold the paced shot button, full power and the ball rifles in, if not you'll get a corner or hit the bar, it's fairly accurate from other angles as long as you have the space and pull it onto their stronger foot
Here are just two examples i uploaded to show the results:

There's a lot of worry that this passed unannounced, with the only reply from an EA Rep' reading along the lines of ''we appreciate the community's input and we will look into the matter''.
While it's great to score screamers all the time this would ruin online play. As soon as someone get's space from distance they'll either score or get a corner, so hopefully when the reviews start coming in we find out is the issue in the final build
Where did you get that screenshot?
Played the Pro Evo demo last night and it's awful, the player movement is shockingly bad after playing Fifa, if the finished game is anything like the demo then Fifa is light years ahead. It's sad because the Pro Evo series brought football games to a new level but they seem to have forgotten how to make a decent game now. :(
kdjaC, any chance you could throw up a screenshot of the same for Galway United? It's to see what jersey they are using and that.
Cheers.
Agreed, and you can't have a decent debate about it on other forums without been called a ''fan boy'' from the PES die hards.
I was arguing about it on boards yesterday, fella reckoned ''the graphics are awful, its unrealistic...the only thing FIFA has going for it is online play''.
I'd love if both of them were great games but PES hasn't moved a step since the PS2, i could be wrong but that engine doesn't feel any different then the PES 08(didnt play PES 09)one, which was basically the same as the PS2 installments, beyond outdated at this stage, i was so unimpressed with the demo i didn't even bother having a second game to at least score a goal.
Thanks god FIFA came up with the goods when PES started to decline, as i get most use out of my computer with football games, there's only so many times i can play maps in FPS's before i get sick of them, the footie games keep you going for months
Ordered FIFA10 from Play.com today. Looking forward to it but pity there no Harps in it. Is there an edit team or add team function so i can put them in myself?
Any screenshots of the Sligo Rovers ones ?
When is it being released? Is it October 2nd or 3rd?
friend of mine rang me with a pass to the launch party on liffey street tonight! whu-hooo!!
I see they have Bohemians FC..
A couple of issues I never did get round to responding to.
Gilberto. I've no problem with the gameplay and maybe I expect too much. I like how the game plays but I'd love to have been able to vary things like tackling and not I suppose have the same predictible outcomes. I'd like to be able to vary a tackle or off the ball attack on a player. I always try to get a bad tackle in with either the ref not seeing it or playing advantage. Then I try and get hold of the ball and run the clock down. As soon as the whistle blows you escape the yellow card. Anybody else try this.
I didn't want to be overly critical of it as I enjoy it. Not having anything to play for i.e relegatio/promotion or Europe is a bit disappointing. You don't get into Europe either in be a pro mode as I've won the league in Ireland, England and Holland. Not sure if its the same in regular mode.
I won't however get FIFA 10. No Harps for one and my focus would be LoI so I'd have loved a first division with promotion/relegation.
I agree on comments on PES. I hate that game and the fact it really hasn't changed much. I can think of back to PES 3 and its not evolved or improved much.
On FIFA and even PES are the refs overly keen in dishing out the cards? I think its always been that way actually.
Anyone get it??is it worth buying or just renting!
I bought it for my son today and collected him early from school so he could play it. He is in transition year and has treble P.E after lunch on Fridays so its no real harm.
And you wonder why this country is full of fat kids!!!! :p
Yes it's definately worth the buy, last year it was good, this year it's improved again, harder to score though but passing is better and the crossing is much better.
Played it yesterday and think its a great game definately worth the buy. Downside though is the LoI as people said above you cant qualify for europe or get relegated so nothing to play for, and I only played one LoI game (Rovers v Bohs) But a lot of the players stats seemed extremely poor or inaccurate? For example Twigg and Baker had much lower stats than Purcell and Amond, and Robinson was their best player?!
