I hear that Peter O Halloran is left Cobh Ramblers and gone to play with Springfield
na he gone to wanderers not springfield thats what i heard last night, disastrous for ramblers one of the few prospects we have, not sure the exact reasons but what im hearin is not good. Joke. Anyway best of luck to peter down below
Said a few weeks back that we were going to lose a few,I guess travelling up and down the country giving up your weekends for no wage is a bit much.Looking more likely those who want the club at MSL level may well get their wish in the future!!
That was not the reason I heard, after last weeks loss to Bray and all the mistakes that the defence made during the game cost Cobh the game.
That is the same story for the last few matches, I believe D.H pointed that out and Peter may have took offence to that.
I be quite honest I saw the game and D.H was right the mistakes they made,a schoolboy would not make and if he did he would learn from the first one and make sure he did not make the same one again.
Every player must be man enough to take it on the chin and get on with the game, you cannot throw your rattler out of the pram when its pointed out to you.
Dont get me wrong Peter is a fantastic player and servent to Cobh throughout his years its a shame if he do not see the mistake he is making.
Cobh have some good young players that withn three or four experience players next year they will be back in D1 LOI, they are now scoring goals what was it 5 goals in 3 games so there has been progress.
Its a pity the RAMs fans do not see fit to support them mistakes have been made in the club you only have to look at City they are in deep s''t again but you do not see there fans turning their back on the team or club week in week out. Every LOI club have money problems and big debts why should Cobh be so different.
Look we have only 2 league matches left to play at st colemans park and the rest are away why not be true supporters and support DH and the team them maybe we will see a future for Cobh Ramblers in 2010
I was talking in general with my previous point as I believe there will be more casualties, all these players will be available soon and may sign for other clubs which will dent our hopes of having a decent squad heading into next season.
You say City have not turned their backs on the club, the city is huge and they cant get 2000 when they most need it.They have gone through all this before and have always had a temperory savior to rescue them their fans should have assumed control long ago if they really wanted it bad enough. We are members run and they will not come back until certain members are removed from office-simple as
I wasnt at the game myself but from what i heard, from more than 5 people(half the crowd):D that zico was the one that was in the horrors, o.g and gave away peno if im correct, yet peter got the tongue lashing!!! Explain!! Schoolboy errors and all that!! I have great time for hill think hes a superb manager but i cannot say ill support hill, ill support rams, the club, not hill, hes reportedly pulling in 4-600 a week and he cant look after our prospects, only won 1 game, and didnt bring in any experienced heads.. I think your being bang out of order with regards to peters situation, very biased opinion towards mr.hill
At least there getting over 2k through the gates we can't get 20 paying supporters where are the so called die hard fans last years members people on these sites who said they support them at any cost.
Even the local players parents and friend don't even go to support them that says a lot about themselves.
I really don't want to go over old ground with the blame game.
some people want to grow up and smell the coffee as l said city are still getting support and I say many cobh people are going to there home games and doing so helping to pay all the players hugh wage bill
And the same people are complaining over paying 400 or so to D.H it would not pay he petrol bill and car manintance each week where also they have to drive to away games
Your correct and thks for pointing that out people go on hear say. As you know hear say get legs as its passed on.
All the defence got a telling off for their mistakes
And they still trained last week if a manager cannot go and. Point out players mistakes without grown up
Player taken offence then they should not be in the games.
Is it ok to keep telling them what fantastic players they are even when they make mistakes how will they. Learn
I was askin ramblers nothing to do with you or watcher, thanks for butting in though.
I got to punchestown last week and back on 40 euro and maintenance, does the car keep breaking down. Over paid under achieving FACT!!
You seem to know alot about whats going on in the dressing room i must say. and i find it petty the way your dumbing it down, as if peter got ****ed out of it once in his life and left, bull**** im pretty sure peter can take a bollocking, obviously it was worse than that.
What yere all trying to hide behind here is this is a major loss for Cobh Ramblers, the hole town is talking about this, the facts are simple we dont have much and what we have we cant hold onto, or treat properly, this has nothing to do with money, or a Player being sick of travelling thats bull****, total and utter crap, one of the best prospects in the club, one of very few too btw, is leaving us, cause of personal issues with the manager from what i can gather, this just isnt good enough. Wanderers must be laughing at us!!
did not know you started the thread, did you butt in, it was started by watcher and he is correct. Re D.H what are you on about costing you €40 to go to punchestown. Watcher was saying that they are costs to managing Cobh training twice a week traviling either away or making it three trips to Cobh it cost money. Two or so hours on the training pitch getting hom at 10pm, plus if its an away game leaving home at 8.30am getting home 7pm same day. Home games at the pitch say 5.30pm getting home 10.30 or later if its a late kickoff. Also having to pay paye/prsi on his pay so if you add all that together he's on €3 an hour. Dave will not earn thousands of € from Cobh but he has to be paid.
Re the team its not built around one player remember its a TEAM game with other good players in the squad. Peter will be missed but like everything else they will replace him and move on. I know your a friend of his but you should put your friensdship a side and see what need to be achieved in the club. with it been the talk of Cobh, they don't support the team so it not as if they will stop going to the game.
Re personal issues with the manager everyone one should be big enough to take it on the chin. If you got a b''''''k by your boss for not doing what you were suppose to do would you walk out.
As it has been said its not a schoolboys game its a mans game and if you cannot take it dont get involved.
It seems you are incorrect bella as I said here say is no good.
If all the town are talking about it it would be good if you can get them up to the next match seeing as they are so worried about cobh ramblers.
Watch you dont fall off the high horse that you seem to spend a lot of time on!!
wouldnt say im friends with peter as such i know him for years but through his brother and played with him few times. this isnt because its peter o halloran its because of his status re:importance to the squad, its a disaster.
Would love to see a more thorough breakdown of hours to see this 3 euro an hour. With the attendance last week you wouldnt have made enough to pay the officials, thats a FACT. Yet we still continue to pay Mr.Hill, therefore were still digging a bigger bigger hole into financial ruin. Not being smart now, but I would love to see if it was a certain other player on the team what your feelings would be on my issues towards this subject.
I'll try again, where was i incorrect!!
Lost all dignity at rams last year bud ive no problem falling, ill just hop up again;)
As i keep saying, oh to be a wanderer!!
so he trains for 2 hours each week, this makes 4 hours as no one gets paid to travel to and from work, another 4 hours for a home game lets say and then 12 hours for an away game, average it out and it works out at 12 hours each week, factor in 3 hours for press and admin duties a week and DH works 15 hours per week for 520e, works out at 35e per hour imo
Thank god ur well balanced blokes. And that you have a chip on both shoulders
Every club in ireland inc uk and europe and we are the only club that do every thing in our power to make sure we go out of business
Look at footie.ie. We are the only club that run down every member who try to keep the. Club alive
If you want the club to survive do something about it instead of knocking everyone. Who. Put a. Quote. On the site.
I know ur reply we love the club and would die for it I don't think so and if so and so leave. We will support the club.
That is not going to happen.
A question. How many supporters are willing to help save the club
As the sub said all loi clubs are in the same boat as Cobh were.
But the difference is they did something about it, just look at City if they go down they will go down fighting to keep the club going.
Cobh in the other hand went down fighting each other and still are, why is everyone so caught up with what Dave Hill is getting paid, it was not so long ago most of you were singing his praise.
How do you expect to get players into the club who have experience unless we pay them which we cannot, how do you expect the players we have get the experience unless we have someone like Dave Hill coaching them.
Rome was not built in a day and its the same with Cobh they will not get back to winning ways unless they are taught and get the expereience they need.
There is no money in Cobh Ramblers yes that is correct and the reason is quite clear all the supporters will not support the team even if they won the Aleague because of the big divide between the town.
There are many many clubs in Ireland loosing money and they are still paying the manager his €2k a week and the players on average €1k a week.
You dont see the supporters carrying on the way Cobh supporters have, if that was the case they would not be a team left in LOI.
More than likley we will see teams going semi-pro next year but they will still be supported by the same people.
Rovers are one example of true fans look at them 20 years ago lost their ground played in every ground in Dublin, but the fans kept them alive with 400 strong TRUE SUPPORTERS, look at them now new pitch and playing one of the top teams in the world tonight
That is what you call support,
Just to put thing straight I have no loyality to commette or Dave Hill none what so ever but its a shame that we are going to leave a club go to the wall just because we do not like each other.
Remember there is no I in team
but there is a "me" in team.
Watcher, i have no problem with DH but my problem lies in that the A League management team from the season before offered to do the job for nothing.2 very experienced and very importantly respected individuals. So our glorious chairman and his merry band of little men decided to reject that idea in favour of paying DH.Now i await your logical reply on how im wrong in this.
experience is the key its no good running around a few cones and running up the steps each week that won't win games they are both nice guys.
Remember as far as Im aware DH was signed to be the 1st div manager in loi and you must have an uafa B licence to manage, correct me if Im wrong they did not have that.
DH signed his contract before they lost the loi status so maybe Cobh would still have to honour the contract, I dont know again correct me if Im again wong.
DH have a uafa B licence which took him maybe two years to achieve and long weeks away and weekends plus a few thousand euro.
Also he played at a high level of football and what I have heard he was good.
I know what your going to say they lost to Bray twice and Bohs but remember they played against Premier players with years of experience and these players are just starting out. In the three games they scored 5 goals in any other league they would have won the three games.
Many errors were made by the team but again that a learning curve.
I have spoken to a few players and they are very happy with DH and the way he manages and coaches no issues over his pay either.
We could go on all day me saying this and you replying, we all know what happened we are all not happy but at the end of the day are we going to just stand by and let the club wind down.
Lets just agree to differ and maybe if we work together and go along and support the team next year could be a new horizan.
Indeed like alot of people round here, well balanced!! Im still supporting the club, only unlucky as **** with the way matchdays are falling. I could not give a **** whos in charge ill stilll go to matches/meetings.
A answer: When asked to donate the 2k i done it foolishly, and im ****ed since, since then nothing more has been asked of me so in my crazy mind ive done all i can and all thats been asked. Im more than willing to help out again only not financially as i can no longer afford it,also last time i checked i did not see your name on the 5 year members list and id imagine your prob 50 times more financially stable than myself. by the way good move on that one, but come the high horse with regards to the saving the club ****, the club cant be saved until we stop all sources of money leaving our gates, start with hill, me made a bold statement with the bar manager, a step in the right direction if if was a sign of things to come, na, it then emmerges we only done that to pay hills wages, OMG:) As i also said sub not being smart but if it was your lets say "favourite players" for use of a better word that were treated like peter was, you'd be on the war path and rightly so too, id probably be on your side then man, but your interests are happy so your happy and best of luck to both them and you bud!!
Emmmmmmmmmmmmmm????:confused:Boom boom pow!!!:D
All loi clubs are not in the same position as us go away and **** off, their playign regular competitive matches against half decent teams which still slightly captures the imagination of the town. Their getting minimum 100-150 extra people to the gates, at a tenner a man we say thats a extra grand, along with sponsorship and so on. Also their not, bar city who are gone, 500k in debt, and only digging a bigger hole for themselves are they.
Be honest who really gives a sh!te about the A Championship?
and how do you know there is no income?Quote:

Also a year ago we signed off on financial controls which stated we would be given a monthly update on accounts, as we have not been given any update on can only assume were not makin money, or were gone back on our word!!!
So Mr.Ramblers why arent the financials controls we put in place "to save the club" being followed??

Ha this **** is funny! All ill say is wats the name of the thread title???
I rest my case!!!
Lads,
Let me just say that I don't actually mean to be giving anyone a hard time here. I only look at it as a bit of highly charged banter so if any think I'm having a go then I do sincerely apologise. We all have different opinions and they all count whether or not people agree with them. I know I get a bit hot under the collar at times and may come back at ya with an out of character response but it's all part of it I suppose. We have supporters here to agree to disagree and it all makes for lively debate once kept within reason.
ha ha i love reading this ***t yere some idiots i love it,yee still havent learned anything, this season has been a failure but my sources tell me ramblers will be the next club put into the 1st div by default if certain things happen in the following 3 months. But yee as fans have failed your club and your club has failed you on & off the pitch so do ramblers a favour and hang up yere scarfs,
