According to The Star, Fabio is on his way out after a massive bust up with Sean Connor.
I was told of his unhappiness up there some time ago and it was a matter of when rather than if he was leaving.
And just to back up my claim, I was advised by a current LOI player.
What's the root of his unhappiness? If what you're saying is true (I don't doubt you), then he has been unhappy before the last two games where he was a sub
I heard that there was a 'misunderstanding' following them having lunch together. :)
It's not like Sean Connor to have a bust up with a player so I'm confused.
Would be shocked if he leaves them, despite his reported unhappiness. If he leaves them who is gonna give him full time football, never mind match his wages?
Hope they sack him and pats sign him...
Would he have to wait until the transfer window to get a new club?
Yep he would.
Nope, players who are out of contract can sign for anyone at any stage
Anto Flood was sacked by Dundalk in May '07. Went to Shels shortly after but couldn't play for them until July 1st.
Depends on whether his contract was terminated or not.
It doesn't matter about his contract. Once you register with a club you are tied to them until the next transfer window. Registrations are between the FAI, the player and the club. Contracts are only between the player and the club.
yep. can only play if he was out of contract prior to the closing of the window. otherwise i'm sure there would be loads of 'convenient' sackings of players and then them signing for another club!!
not if you were sacked after the transfer window closed.
only players who were free agents (unsigned, sacked or mutually cancelled contract) prior to the 23rd feb can sign outside the transfer window.
he won't be able to play with another club in the LoI until 1st July
Regardless if you are under contract or not, once you register for a club you CANNOT leave that club until the next transfer window. It doesn't matter if the contract is cancelled mutually, bought out, ripped up or burned.
How much would it cost to pay up the "sackings" though?
What happens if a player's contract is cancelled by mutual consent; can he move outside the window then?
As above its probably a registration thing rather than a contract thing
This is stage one I think. Next one is another bust-up, with more of a fan favourite and then alienate himself from the fans:)
This is beginning to look familiar..........
O'Brien is playing the Cretaro part .............who'll be the Gerry Carr of Dundalk.........
Apparently Connor's got his bestest best mate Steve Bruce in to have a nice heart to heart chat with Fabio over a nice cup of tea and some Hob Nobs
The nucleus of a half decent team of those that have failed to embrace the Connor way
Owen Heary
Stephen Rice
Fabio
Cretaro
Kevin Hunt
and ...err... Dessie Byrne
Connor? Bust up?
I refuse to believe it.
Fabio was unhappy about been subbed vs galway at ht he said it was the first time in his career that he was subbed at hf. He was named on the bench Vs Cork but ended up sitting in the stand
Why is Fabio called Fabio? Never been able to work it out.
played for a team in dublin called verona hence the italian name fabio
More bull from dalymountrower....
Owen Heary--liar who got his mate Fenlon in to Dalyer
Stephen Rice ---clown with nothing in between his lugs!
Fabio----time will tell
Cretaro---average player
Kevin Hunt----top player who was disgracefully treated by Fenlon the year after Connor said his legs were finished
and ...err... Dessie Byrne----poor Dessie!
Judging by that post - they're cutting off the circulation to his brain
Not as I was told by someone who was involved with Verona at the time...turned up with his hair dyed and was nick named Fabio after the bored American housewife's favourite Fabio Lanzoni.

There seems to be a lot of actual reasons.
