Any thoughts? :)
If we don't win we should pack our bags and go home for the season
This crowd are worse than Mervue so realistically we should be beating them convincingly. Considering they lost 8-0 or something like that to Sporting Fingal, a lot of goals would do our confidence the world of good considering we're finding goals hard to come by as of late.
Looking forward to heading down to Jackman tonight...Knowing my luck though, it will be another enthralling 0-0 :D
A win, a clean sheet, and Dave Ryan the goalie to score the first goal is all I ask. Get it sorted Scully ;)
We are going to win this match. I would stake my reputation on it.
A good win is badly needed. We need to get the crowds into Jackman and the only way is to put on a good display and let the press and word of mouth from those that bother to attend do the rest. The crowds picked up at the tail end of last season even though we had no realistic chance of doing anything but we were playing good football.
We want 9 :D
Realistically, 3-0 would be a good result.
with the whole kildare team behind the ball 3-0 would be a great result.
2-0 in front of 600+
Not a great game but a win is a win and made even better considerin UCD and shelscum lost. Did not play any great stuff but Kildare were really poor and we should have scored more really. We're really lackin a striker. Gettin cummins back in the squad is a necessity, anyone know when hes back?
By the way when are we gatecrashin Davey Ryans 21st
3 points is 3points.I thought Tommy had a good solid game. His passing was pretty decent and he set up small Davey and Walshey several times.Scanlon did his best but he's not a target man. Tierney and Cummins will tell a different story. The other results going our way is a major plus.
Long way to go yet my friends! :D
Terrible game, Kildare are so bad its not true and i reckon if the edge wasn't taken off Limerick by the cup game last monday they could have won this easier. Couldn't rate the back 4 as they literally had nothing to do but Paul Walsh continues to be the outstanding creator in the team. Scanlon not the answer up front and when Cummins gets back to full fitness it will be just the tonic. Have to say though even though a win is a win the footall the side played last year is missing but the result is all important
Good 3 points, and one of the best own goals I've ever seen in my life...comical stuff from Kildare.
Roll on Waterford next week.
P.S - Was someone calling out my user name in the shed in the first half? Or am I hearing things? :D
Kildare were shocking. Scanlon worked tirelessly but admittedly we miss Tierney. More importantly whats the extent of Waynes injury
True Kildare are bad I'm not disputing that but you can only play against whats put out in front of you,on a positive note 3 points,3 goals and a clean sheet
some nice work and movement last night. probably still lacking in the final third, but on the bright side Scully said last night that cummins was back in training this weekend, and tierney would be soon as well. Good results in other games makes the table look more interesting. a win against waterford next week would have things looking well
Scully said on the radio this morning that Wayne is still recovering from a glandular illness and only took him off as a precaution. Roll on Waterford.
I think we all need to make a big effort during this week to get as many friends/relatives/work mates up to Jackman next friday night.
good result even though Kildare where shocking. Scanlan worked his socks off. Thought walshe had a great game but my man of the match would have to deady. He was up and down the wing from full back all night, showed some great skill and he has some left foot on him. The majority of the crosses he whips in are dangerous, as are his free kicks. It only time before he scores a crackin free.
have to really pull everyone in for next week lads. after waterford we have only one home game a month for the next two months = very little income. loads of solo persons comming from teams why not bring all of your team? support the half time draw, buy a programme, buy in the shop. appriciate the volenteers who work in the shop, sell the half time draw, hang the flags, assemble and print the programme, dress in a silly costume
jebus will have edition two of the fanzine ready which should be class and i think i heard something about seats been put into the stand???:o
Seats!!! In the shed!!! Thats a disgrace. :D
Or the dressing rooms, they are an embarrassment
3pts,clean sheet very pleasing indeed, but my god were kildare the worst team to play at this level in jackman park, they were awful.our performance quite poor, and lets face we were gifted 2goals.agree with others on scanlon so hopefully tierney, cummins back soon.i have said previously that scullys approach wont have us playing quality football ,this game had none but its a results business.pity about the crowd very small hard to create an atmosphere.waterford should be a good test of where we are at.
I'm going to sing one big song with everybody's username in it at the Waterford match. That way nobody will feel left out :D
LDMC are putting in 250 seats in the shed, they are also providing ladies/gents toilets under the shed, all in all,any improvement is good.Confirmed.Planning application is being produced to extend dressing rooms,1500 seater on railway side on hold, until second entrance is aquired(planning office require this)
thats good news, especially if the Markets Field deal falls through.
We'll be able to do the "stand up for the super blues" song properly now!
Are they going to get rid of them bloody pillars too
From what i gather, the pillars stay.In relation to the markets field, things are gone very quiet, big reduction in city council funding, which might impact in any input from them. The fai are skint, with funding lansdowne,so anyone know jp well enough, have a word.
An invite has been issued to Castletroy Blue and to everyone to come and join in the atmosphere on Friday, a few songs would go well. :D
The problem and sole problem is Limerick City council who are a non spending non provision council...that is to say they never spend....anything! Regeneration, FAI, Rugby League, Dept of Education, Limerick County Council and even the GAA are keen on the markets field plan. But city council dont spend hence the lack of facilities such as sport and other in the city. For this they are the only council not in debt in the country. Look at the facilites in county limerick for sport and something simple such as recycling, same in shannon and ennis but look at limerick city. nothing! Two or three self rising dictators playing the elected assembly to thier advantage in their cushy jobs for life roles.
any chance you runnin for election?you have my vote :D
While i am no fan of the city council, they are the only organisation that could have rezoned the markets field, which they declined. If you look at the minutes of meetings,(they are available online)The county boyos on the other hand, zilch. It might also be worth a mention that they did not charge any developement fees, about 300k,for thomond pk.Our country cousins on the other hand continue to collect rates on the verge of our city and hang baskets in abbeyfeale. The fai have commited nothing, and have made that crystal.Ring jp quick
Indeed, get a few tunes, we're lovely people really, you'll have a ball..:rolleyes:Quote:
So I just shout out 'Zulu', and you'll make yourself known? :D
See you Friday lad
