Could be total crap but here's the link anyway. Its an unofficial Leinster Senior League forum. Maybe someone starting a rumour, which in fairness I could be accused of.

Looks like it's true...

**** **** **** ****.
Would obviously prefer to have him available, but its not the end of the world if he is gone. We have Hunt to slot into his position without tinkering with the rest of the team.
I'd be a lot more worried if it was one of our central defenders or strikers who were pulling out.
Forgot he was still playing
lol at hunt. a hard working player but a disaster of a player particulary against a team like italy away from home. duff mighnt be the old duff, but he's intelligent with the ball, makes the right decision and a lot more dangerous than hunt..well in terms of football.
I dunno, I know technically, he hasn't got a patch on Duff but Hunt could be the sort of curveball to throw at the Italians. He'll get in their faces. Against an ageing fullback like Zambrotta, Hunt's energy and directness could be more effective than the game Duff has nowadays.
Shouldn't he now call up Reid as cover?
I don't want to rely on Hunt. He is no replacement for Duff - not that we have one.
I agree about Reid, and this is where we may regret not trying out Lawrence before now.
think that might be pushing it there. they're without their most valuable player(petrov) as well, so it evens itself out. hopefully we don't lose keane and dunne to further even the score.
Not a lot to go on in that Irish Times report, doesnt mention any injury.
Not worried. Hunt is the better player now. Seen Duff play for Newcastle heaps this year. He is fairly average now and does not make any kind of impact off the ball like Hunt.
Regular media briefing from FAI starting soon.
This seems a bit weird, you would imagine if it were an injury that the initial reports would have said so. Hopefully not some bust up in the camp, last thing we need.
Just heard Tony O'Donoghue on RTÉ Radio 1. Can't remember exact phrase but said something like shocking scenes at Irish training. Sounds like it's not injury related. Sounds like a bust up to me.
Did the Duffer pop accross to Sunderland to borrow Reid's guitar before flying to Dublin?
Newcastle United winger Damien Duff returned to England on Thursday, prompting widespread speculation that he will miss Saturday night’s World Cup qualifier against Bulgaria.
Duff took no part in the Republic of Ireland squad training session at Malahide in Dublin this morning.
Instead, it is believed that the 30-year-old has returned to England amid uncertainty over his availability for Saturday’s Croke Park showdown with the Group 8 second seeds.
It is not known whether Duff has suffered an injury or whether his return across the water is prompted by personal reasons.
The Football Association of Ireland has yet to make an official comment.
From elevenaside.com, took no part in training apparently............so not sure about that Tony O'D report.
Hamstring tear according to Sky Sports News
"muscle strain" Hmmm, anyone know the usual course of events for pulling out with a minor injury like that, surely it doesnt happen over the course of an hour or two or without rumour or official word first leaking to the press.
EDIT: TV3 said muscle strain, I think I believe the hamstring tear more...
hope it wasnt bust up, the last thing we need is another quality player exiled from the national team
what tony o'donaghue say? duff is a bit of a sap, but he doesn't strike me as someone to ever be involved in bust ups
hamstring seems to be the consensus now.
Out of both games with a muscle spasm.
