Where did you see this?
It was in a local Welch paper I saw on de web. Don't remember de name of de paper. Can't pronounce most Welch things or spell them for dat matter.
Are they on trial with us or are they signed as players?
On loan I think.
So at the minute our team is looking like:
GK- Murphy
DF- Bermingham
DF-
DF-
DF-
MF- Russo
MF- Curran
MF- McCartney
MF- Jinks
ST- Glynn
ST- Murphy
Anyone care to fill the other voids????
We'll wait for confirmation on Lamont and Goodyear I think!!!
Not sure, I think Longford signed Brian Murphy at Monaghan Town last season. Did not play for them though.
Andy Bermingham, was with us last season. Centre back, around 19 or 20. Smashing player
Ah right. Was wondering how you managed to get Ian Bermingham off us!
Ha ha, I wish. I've heard his name linked with Fingal.
This week's Longford Leader has it that Carmine Russo has signed for the club from Athlone and that Gough is hoping to re-sign Adrian Murphy after he impressed in the trial game. No mention of any 'Welchers'. Also confimed the friendly against Bohs and said that we were hoping to finalise games against Sligo, Dundalk and Derry as well. The Sligo game would seem to be off since that would have been put in I think.
Edit: Russo and Murphy confirmed on the Town site I see now.
Well there's no confirmation of it anywhere except this thread either Martinho so don't be getting too bothered about it just yet!.
Yeah don't know what to make of 'them Welsh' signings. I'll believe it when there posted up on the Town website or somewhere else. Any info on Russo from Athlone fans?
Just found a bit myself!! :D

Given that this club aren't even in the Welsh League I'm given cause for skepticism
I'm sorry but I made a mistake on de club. It's actually Port Talbot Town. Sorry for the mix up.
Checked that out myself Rocky and seen no sign of them either.
Port Talbot on the other hand finished 4th last year in the Premier Division in Wales so if they were starters for them then they might do a job.
They don't feature on Port Talbot's squad list on their site, nor does Google show any trace, so I have my doubts as to their existence. If I'm proved wrong then fair enough.
Yes there's a stench in here and I'm not liking it very much!! Smells like someone is spouting lies out of them? Are you sure your facts are right Two Left Boots???? Me thinks you messed up the players names as well as the actual team!!!!
Don't think they were starters but they're up and coming players. Some fresh talent.
Kristian James and Chris Thornton r de names of the players actually. Dat paper I saw it in wasn't a reliable source!
Well them 2 boys are with Port Talbot but one has only made 3 sub appearances this year and the other lad hasn't appeared at all!! Signings for the U-21 by the look of things. Are they def 20 or under?
There's a player by de name of Stephen Lumley 21 a little birdie told me he was on trial the past week and likely to sign Saturday and a 26 year old defender called
Craig James who is negotiations with the club.
well I know Murphy who's signed was on trial as well as paul kelly. I know there was a young Canadian and then I think a Polish lad from Town and 2 Brazilians (most likely the Gort contingent) were there also. If there the same 2 Brazilians we had on trial last year wouldn't hold my breath on them signing!!!
michael lee left back i think is goning to be a possibilitie after talking to a few people...
Where's he from HYT?.
beside the rugby club, played with the club this year on 2 of the underage teams after playin football in dublin with bohs for the last few years,he was asked to play with bohs after playin kennedy cup with longford few years back...local boy...played a game last year for first team under o'callaghan, vinny didnt like him when he took over doh...
Thought I knew the name alright. Sounds like the sort of player we'd be looking at alright, young and local. Is he useful or have you seen him much?.
fast, very fast and strong, can defend aswell so with bit of experience could be a good find..
There was a kid from Mullingar played a couple of friendlies including the Sean Prunty game and the Legends game I think, Dean something or another, I remember Vinny saying he was one to watch out for. He was 16 or 17 I think, I wonder if he's still about?. Probably not.
I do believe that michael lees one game was against dundalk in the 3 nil defeat, he came on for last 20 minutes for stephen gough
Might have been McGrath I think.
Dean Clarke
dean clarke, from killucan, played in the friendly, and that game against crusaders was all the under 20 team with o'callaghan and vinny playin aswell for a while...michael lee is rom longford town, beside the rugby club, believe me,he is not from killeo..plays his gaa for slashers, well he did underage...he did play one game for the 1st team last season..vinny was trying to get dean a trial in dundee united for some time in the near future, but he is doin his leavin cert this year so wouldnt know what he is going to do...he is only 16,and yes he is still around for now...
