Sounds like the theme to Only Fools & Horses to me
I've heard it described as a Pump it up/Only fools and horses re-make. I haven't had the pleasure myself yet.
Sound to me like the were listening alot to the Rated R by queens of the stoneage when they recorded it.
You sound surprised ? U2 in terrible song shocker !!! They are an awfull band
i like it.....:(
took me a few listens though. Only thing is Bono's voice doesnt suit the track.
Whats the name of the track? Is it 'Get On Your Boots'?
Its taken me quite a few listens to get in to this song. Its definetly not a U2 classic but it has something about it.It sounds like a rock n roll funky pop song.
From reading reveiws about the forthcoming album its seems that the rest of the new songs are different than Get On Your Boots.
Hit the nail on the head there Optimist.
'White Snow', 'Ceadors of Lebanon' and 'Unknown Caller' are meant to be the 3 best tracks on the album. IMO 'Mercy' is their best song....hasnt been officially released on an album or as a single though.

That's not being released as a single is it? It's pretty bad alright..
U2 have kicked off most of their last few albums with an up temto song that hints at a new direction.
The Fly
Discotheque
Beautiful Day
Vertigo
This falls in to that category.
awful muck
Just heard it. It's not the Mae West. isnt Bono a bit auld to be singing about 'sexy boots'? Unless it's about someone else.... ;)
Reminds me (verses at least) of 'We Didn't Start the Fire' ...that most popular of dittys with wedding bands* -and co-incidently my most hated song in the history of all music ever -yes ...even surpassing Yazz and the Plastic Populations' 'The Only Way Is Up' and Fairground Attractions 'Perfect'.
*...ah Bless 'em -still pushing the envelope 30 years later. Heard they were on the radio in recent days upping their Northside Dub credentials. Where's it they're from again? The mean streets of Howth?
im starting to love it now, on my 7,000,000th listen
Looks like they've ripped off an album cover too..

So you don't think they're remarkably similar concepts then?
.....
gets interesting 2:15 in... what a c*ck

Am I missing something here?
Doesn't that article state the album cover is based on work by a Japanese photographer?
Which I just read is this one.
Given U2 have admitted as much, isn't Deupree more guilty of plagiarism then? His is even more of a rip-off.
interesting enough song but not my cuppa tea.
I thinks its awful, not a patch on some of their other (better) stuff.
