Marty Morrissey and his entirely unfeasible hair were on the panel tonight, and he was asked what his sporting highlights of the year were: Harrington, blah, blah, Munster, blah, Kilkenny.......
What other country in Europe would a domestic football double win and record league points total not be a highlight? whinge, whine.....we are so beneath the radar that no one even thought to mention it.
Didn't think Marty mouse was a Boez supporter, although he does look like one!:p
He is a bogball person. LOI doesn't even cross his radar. Some people would moan about anything.
The LOI was such a washout this year even fans of the league can't remember who won the trophies...

I was at a cup replay in the Iveagh Grounds St James's Gate v Derry City circa 1995 and Marty was there apparently off duty. Never saw him at a football match before or since.
In fairness I don't recall him ever being bigoted about Irish football. He may have little interest. We all have different sporting highlights. I'd have said Pats v Elfsborg anyway for domestic football. :D

sweet jesus, winning the league by like a gallazion points is not exactly a great sporting moment for a random sports journalist.
harrington won on the world stage, katy taylor won on the world stage, we got medals in boxing, all bigger than bohs achievment.
winning the all ireland is also much bigger than bohs achievment in this country.

i think some people are missing the mark slightly on this one - in a proper soccer nation the performance of Bohs would be at the top of every journalists/commentators list of highlights (irrespective of their "area of interest"), as would the euro performances etc etc.Quote:
