Dundalk FC seemed to have stopped them for some reason alright.. Not signed up to any other clubs though.
I signed up to a few also, Cork and Drogs are regular users of the service, mostly to call emergency meetings though :D
Usually get the Harps starting lineup and thats about it - not even that this week!
We were told that anyone who signed up to more than one was taken off the system
Rovers usually send the result of each game just after full time. None last night though.
basically each club get an allocation of 4 texts a week to be used - which are sent via a web interface
I get the Galway United ones regularly to my (UK) mobile. Mainly marketing messages about the next game, though it was where I heard the news about Kenna's appointment and the Cup Draws too.
Citys service is fairly regular to be fair.
Pats one is still going. Normally gives out team news before matches
Signed up for Limerick ones a few days ago just to see if they would work for the Dundalk match but other than a text confirming I'd registered I heard nothing else.
Afaik these texts have been stopped by the FAI for the rest of the season.

We only get three texts a week Reiteoir, and had to throw a wobbler to get the extra one as they initially cut us to two.
Very poor service. We only send the line-up and full time results (in order to keep one in reserve for a big announcement), and can't even do that if there's a midweek game. We have over 500 signed up this year, but I don't think there'll be many bothered with it here next season, and none at all if it's not free again.
Actually you were only meant to get 2 a week. Has been stopped for the time being.

I signed up for about 5 different clubs mainly 1st division for latest scores etc as Im away a lot of the time but they all stopped a while ago and now I get none!
While Im on lads whats the European entrants this season,is it 1st 4 in premier + Fai Cup winners?
FAI and the service operator set it up without spelling out the limit to those sending out texts.

drogs use theirs quite a bit but not enough to be annoying - reminder about a game - sometimes result - reminders to watch MNS and yes, recently there have been some notes on the crisis
Initially I think we were given 4, then they tried to cut it to 2, but one of our lads complained like feck and we got it back to three.
Having said that, with keeping one in reserve and not having a midweek game for a long time it could have been cut to 2 again for the last while without us knowing.
Anyway, from the horse's mouth the reason behind it is that the total number of texts has exceed the limit allowed to the FAI (1,000,000 texts) and they have no budget for more this season, but have plans to get it running again next season.
