I'd heard this was coming at the weekend from an ex-Rovers source. He seems to have been correct. I wonder if Alan Mathews' name might be in the frame there?. An ex-Rovers player and fan and rumour has it he's looking to head back to Dublin.
Bit out of the blue this one, will wait to hear the reasons although judging by the rovers forum it appears to be amicable.
Sad to see him go:(Sean Connor or Doolin to get it:)
What's the reason for this? I thought he was a good manager to be honest
Kinda inevitable.
What's the chances, thread will get shifted out to our forum?
Paul Cook, I'd be willing to bet.
My money would be on Doolin
According to the person I heard the initial rumour from, as I say ex-Rovers, he's an extremely narky individual who had a poor relationship with most of the directors there. His example was "if he needed ten training balls he wouldn't ask the club 'can you get me ten training balls'?. He'd say 'you better get me ten f***ing training balls by Friday or I'm out of here' ". Judging by the amount of people he's fallen out with he can't be easy to get along with. Paul Cook would be a good appointment for Rovers alright.
Officially gone!

Bit of talk down this way that it could be Cronin , im a worried blue
id be a worried hoop if he turned up lumping balls up and down Tallaght. Scully to Dundalk if Gill doesnt get them up
Its a shock, he has done well with Rovers and the now defunct Kilkenny City. Wonder where his next destination will be. As for your new boss don't be suprised if its Roddy Collins.
I'd say Sean Connor will be the new manager :ball:

Kevin Hunt.
David Jeffrey,Sean Connor,or Doolin who else would be mad enough to take them over??
Maybe Paul Cook or even Jeff Kenna too.If we(galway utd) stay up and been in 2 cup semi's then he should get manager of the year and it wont be long before a bigger club comes looking for him id say.Plays a lovely brand of football too.I dont want to see him go though.Maybe Cronin but my money is on Cook going from Sligo.
Kenna for manger of the year, lol.
Who Will Be The Next Permanent Shamrock Rovers Manager (William Hill Bet) 3-1 Damien Richardson, 5-1 Pat Doolin, 6-1 Stephen Kenny, Brian Kerr, 8-1 John McDonnell, 9-1 John Aldridge, 10-1 Tony Cousins, 12-1 Pete Mahon, Pat Dolan, 14-1 Liam Buckley, 16-1 Alan Matthews, Derek Treacy, 20-1 Pat Fenlon, 33-1 Steve Staunton, 50-1 Ray Treacy, 66-1 Pat Byrne, and 100-1 Roddy Collins
No Cook.
Yes, he was definitely a good appointment for Rovers. What's that got to do with Shamrock though?Manager of the year:D:D.
Paul Cook was rumoured to have signed a pre-contract with Shams months ago. Scully's departure was obvious.
Tony Cousins !
9-1 John Aldridge? wtf? There's a bigger chance of my dog being appointed than him....
and I don't have a dog
