edit; as far as i can femember half the stages will be in fermanagh as well or something to that tune, making it a cross border initiative
Its definitely going to be cross border. Good news for tourism
Reckoned to be possibly worth €40 - €50 million a year to the economy.
thats class if it is but tbh im not sure how they can calculate that figure or where they got it from
Sounds class, good news indeed. They're big into their rallying in the North. The RPM show will have watering mouths just thinking about it.
Its a huge event for Ireland to stage. Will be good showcase for irish scenery too. Now that Ireland has the WRC i suppose as long as it does well they will keep it.
I presume it will be a tarmac race? Well what we call tarmac in this country.
If its in November does that mean its at the end of the season?

It's tarmac, yeah. It's the second last rally of the year so it could be pivotal if Loeb isn't running away with the championship again.Quote:

Leob & Gronholm battling for the lead in Italy. Looks like a two horse race but long way to go yet.
Gronholm won after Loeb spun out. Loeb seems to be faster but he hasn't finished a few rounds now.
Anyone heading down to the round when it's in Ireland? I've been reliably informed that there's a couch reserved for me.
I'm probably, by the sounds of it, going to be based in Leitrim and we'll drive to the stages from there.
Anyone got a link to the route? What is the closest stage to Dublin area? Would it be possible to day trip it?
I would suspect hotels will be heavily booked in advance close to the stages? Seems like need to plan well in advance...

None too close to Dublin.
WRC still up for grabs & cannot be won before Ireland.
Japan next week then Ireland.
Thinking of making an effort to go to this but not organised...Quote:
