Seriously getting sick of drawing so much games after taking the lead!
That's what form can do...a very credible 1-1 draw on the back of wins as opposed to a 1-2 home defeat on the back of defeats and bottom of the table
Have to hope for second place again and a decent fixture list
That's my place in the middle division secured anyhoo, decent campaign. Gotta even out the match experience now before the end of the season.
Can't believe I still might go down after the start I had!
Well I'll still be giving it a go, lineups won't be really any weaker than than usual.
Not sure we'll still have 3 divisions next season, there's a good few idle teams.
Massive away win for us away to an in form Fags. Hauls us up to fifth with a chance of snatching fourth on the last day....be a difficult ask against a team that just won away to the Provos. Mathmatically its all to play for at the basement on the last day...us, Harps, Fiorintino, DBS.
Congrats to Loftys on sealing another title win.
Have I set a record for draws in a season?
I've been steadily losing interest in this game and think it's time I retire. Any of the longer serving managers interested in being appointed league admin from next season?
I wouldn't mind making a return to UCD but obviously anybody currently in the league gets preference... :)
Dfx would be the logical candidate though.
I was coming on with the plan of congratulating Lofty on winning the League title again - congratulations Lofty on winning the league title again - but I feel that tribute must be paid to Sligoman who has for several seasons run a very good league. We, or at least I, have slagged him off repeatedly over the seasons, but he not only introduced most of us to Xpert Eleven, but founded and steered the league without complaint and was very helpful when any questions have been asked. The league will not be the same without him running it.
Hear, hear. Couldn't have put it better myself.
Shame he didn't get away with what he did to those poor sheep...
Shame there's no thanks button anymore :( Congrats to Lofty and thanks to Sligo man for running the league, it's not too late to change your mind!
Congratulations on the title Lofty, squad has developed nicely. :) Four different champions in the past four seasons.
Just had a look at UCD there- possible promotion on the cards with no manager since September!
Was at a complete loss as to how we could possibly have lost to Harps, more chances, more possession better defensive, midfield and forward line ratings. Then I seen my 8 rated keeper put in a 4 performance. It seems Pants are cursed in the goalkeeping department.
Had a very simlar experience.. even game but Sligoman beat me to feck. Just noticed that the last relegation spot was decided on goals scored
Relegated by -4 goal difference but feel really sorry for sligoman: relegated by -1 goals scored.
Only three points between fourth and ninth. :(
I've resigned from my other teams in an effort to just focus on my team in the foot.ie league. We're in the bottom division now so time to re-start from the beginning, have a clear-out and try and re-build everything. I'll stay for next season and see if I can try and get back into the game. If not, I'll hand the league over at the end of next season.
Any newcomers interested in playing for next season?
Another crappy change report :(
We've 27 teams at the moment. Need 3 more if possible, otherwise the divisions will be uneven with 9 in each.
Get one more and you could have seven divisions of 4!
Three would be the ideal though. Three of ten works very nicely, with space for the promoted sides to hold onto their status, but nothing is too safe either.
Any ideas on layout for new season lads? Looks unlikely we'll get it back up to 30. I'm away all next week so wont be online much so hoping to get league set up before I go.
If we could get one more player maybe a league of 2x14? I think once we drop below 30 the three division format gets a bit cluttered.
What about the league thats going on in the thread below this one? Are there heads in there that don't have a team in this one?
We have 25 teams at the moment so if we kick on with that the options are 2 divisions; Premier with 13, Division 1 with 12 or 3 divisions; Premier with 9 and division 1 & 2 with 8 each. I don't mind either way. I'm away in London from tomorrow til Friday so if ye want to discuss what ye'd prefer here I'll create the season when I come back Friday. Apologies for the delay in seasons lads, twas a bit ridiculous.
no sweat Sligoman!
I'd be hapy enough with either option there tbh
A 13 & a 12 might be a nice change?
I vote for three divisions.
And a cup?
2 divisions sounds better to me.
2 Divisions would be afr too longer and a good few more would probably lose interest ahfl way through. more divisions with less teams would be the ideal.
Edit: a cup woudl be good craic!
Doesn't that mean only one game a week once you're out though? That could see more people lose interest as well. Just a pity it can't be three games a week!
