The point he's trying to make is that the player is a free agent since his wages haven't been played.
Any other free agent would be able to join a club outside of the transfer window, as they're not a transfer.
Bit in this instance the FAI hold McLean's paperwork, due to his status as a City player until recently. So the FAI hold the cards here, but don't want to put them down.
He had a contract at the end of the last transfer window so he can't move til January. The player's gripe should be with the Wellvan directors who landed him in this situation rather than the FAI.
And the Lincoln guy should recognise that the players are in this situation because they were a party to cheating (albeit unconsciously if you take their word for it).
The fun begins..

Any names connected to this?
Surely you meant to refer to the 'continuity' DCFC here......
Is this the Provisional Derry City or the Real DCFC?
Merge into the megathread?
We good luck to you's....
Hope to see you back up in the PD soon enough
The United Kingdom isn't even a country
so has the other Derry City officially closed shop now and will their crest be changin?
Merged the threads as all that will happen is that the same things will be discussed in both threads (as happened the last time).
It seems DCFC's status is Mr Parker's new play thing/obsession, to add to his ILSF obsession over how old his club is versus Limavady United..... :p
Wellvan Enterprises, trading as DCFC, is now in Administration.
As for the crest, I suspect there'll be strong fan pressure to change it as most didn't like our current crest anyway.
However - that is unconnected to the change in legal entity. A chunk of fans have been pushing for a new crest for years now.
Signed with invisible ink on rice paper that was subsequently eaten by those involved.
Ergo - any proof of such a contract has turned to sh!t.
Mod edit - use the multi-post, FFS.
