ya def another season for wembley in 1a but dont think we will lose as many players as last year. because of not getting promoted last year we lost thomas clarke and paul danagher to limerick(prob would of left anyway) eddie brazier and darren glasheen to boro and anthony mcdonnell and jason sheehan to ul/aisling so to be honest we always thought we would be short of promotion this year, but hopefully a lot of excellent minor and u17 coming through hopefully can hang on to them both teams still in fai minors in semi final. ya maybe a change in management maybe to attract new players only but in fairness we just dont have the squad to sustain a strong promotion charge so cant really fault the management there, ya liston and damien collins(wobbler) up front for us all season.
our fixtures for rest of season are
home: caherdavin abbey balla croom coonagh
away: dines and star
Scoobysham, ye have a good run in though and I'd be surprised if ye weren't thereabouts for the second spot. Wembley need to be playing Premier to have a chance of holding on to the youngsters coming through.
ya in fairness we have to be playing premier to hold on to our younger players with the re introduction of limerick u21s in the summer is a problem for us and especially with the u17 and minors still in fai the premier teams will be watching palyers.
ya just looking at the rest of the teams run ins seem tricky enough u never know i suppose if we keep at it might hang in there we could have a slight chance and for a fact we will still battle away until it is not possible to get promoted.
on paper wembley look like having a handy run-in but the fact remains that there forwards are not good enough.Wembley have had good youth teams for the last few years and are still in A1 i think it needs more then that.what was that quote "you win nothing with kids":)
Are Dom and Jimmy still in charge at Wembley? Remember them stepping aside at the start of Wembley's last season in the Premier. They were begged to come back after the raver that took over had them relegated by Christmas. Both great football men and both gave great service to the club.
As for Croom and Herbertstown at the weekend, there used be murder at that a few years ago the year both were promoted from 1B. Were you around that year Bishop? Lunatic that used play for Croom (one of the many) broke a fella's nose with a headbutt on the way off instead of shaking hands at the end of one game.
ya jimmy collins is not involved with any age group at wembley, he is now the chairman. himself and dom have done a great job with all the underage teams in recent years. Dom is in sole control of the junior team, ya played that year were relegated from premier at christmas when dom and jimmy came back brought respectibility back to the club. Id say dom could have enough this year he nearly packed it in last year to concentrate on the younger teams at the club. two grat clubmen for Wembley and will be involved in some capacity at the club for the long term no doubt.
ya totally agree with sees it we will have to try something different up front because we have been creating chances all season but takes us so many opportunities to score.
whose the raver?Quote:

Every time one of them draw or lose its a game less for us to win.
If Star go up will ye be strenghting the team as the bones of the side got relegated with Abbey last year, what players could you see signing.Alan Barry is a cert to sign anyway...........Quote:

I think Alan Barry might sign but you'd never know really.
We'll just concentrate on getting up first and worry about next season at the end of this one.
who's he playing for at the moment abbeyvale?Quote:

Shannon have picked up a lot since the start of the season and have had some great results lately..... I expect it will be a tough and tight game that could go either way....also, it it a month since we had a serious league game, so may be a little off the pace....Quote:

I wouldnt say we have a handy one, considering the majority of our team have nearly all played perviously with the Dines so they will be up for it.Quote:

not to many of them players have played for ye in the last few games.Geraldines have nobody im expecting them to roll over and lose by 3 or 4.....Quote:

gonna be tough one for us against caherdavin, majority of our team have played with caherdavin (barry dillion, dave liston, david quinn, damien collins, john dunworth, mike dunworth, morgan lewis, pa sheehan) and scoolboys played with by a few more for a couple of seasons. so i would take any win against them to move us up a small bit expect eveyone else around us to win so if we dont get 3 points def out of it for promotion
8 ex C'davin thats abit mad Balla and Coonagh have alot of ex C'davin aswell.who plays for C'davin now so if 3 teams in the league have aload of there ex players.....Quote:

And to answer your question,
Ger Collopy failed to show up for the last 2 games but was back training this week,
John Barry and Derek Hannon are suspended until further notice from the FAI.
Peter Clarke is injured, but all other players mentioned have being playing all along.
Coonagh 2 - 1 Balla B
Croom 0 6 Summerville
yesterday's results went according to most predictions....very tight at the top now with a lot of teams still in the hunt.....mid-week games going to have a big bearing on how this league turns out.....
