I'd get Knight on for Idah and try to get a better hold of the midfield. Let Smallbone focus on getting forward and let Knight do the defensive work he isn't doing well.
They also need to put a man marker on Liverpool left back. That would stop an awful lot of the Greek attacks
The big problem is not at the back, it’s the old bogey - midfield.

The difference between Ireland when they win the ball back in midfield and when Greece do it is enormous. They're full of speed and positive efforts to get the ball in the final third. We're slow and too prone to taking a few passes sideways. It honestly feels like we're a man down.
For a team that spent so much time together over the last couple of weeks this is really disappointing. We look so hot and miss, disjointed, sloppy in and out of possession. Greece are no great shakes really, I mean they’re good and they’re better than us with some nice players but they’re limited yet still playing through us at ease. If we do draw this, it’s probably because they switch off like they did in the first. Depressing really.
You’d have to think we’ll have a new manager for the September series.

No-one in this Irish team apart from Cullen won a medal of any description this year if I'm not mistaken. That has an effect on my view. That last attack was the game summed up. Our defence AWOL, good approach play from Greece, but no end product.

James McClean is one of my all time favourite footballers, but that was unforgiveable. He shouldn't be playing for us anymore. It kills me to say that as he's been such a loyal servant, but his time has come and gone.
Against a decent team, Ireland would be losing this by five goals to one.

The lack of movement off the ball is so frustrating to watch. Really poor performance.
