Swap deal, Hooooban for SOD. ;)
Waterford are challenging the validity of clauses in St Pats players contracts and considering a judicial review, with a points deduction possible they could escape relegation, Pats staff and players will use relegation release clauses (exempt from review) so all sorted for Dundalk and then its just Bohs between Dundalk and Europe....as far as some of the rumours go this would be one of the more realistic ones!!!
Great bit of business for Harps. He's been excellent two seasons in a row and will certainly have had offers from elsewhere.
We're certain to lose a few bodies but keeping the majority of last season's squad and building on it going into 2022 is important if we're to compete with a lot of sides spending a lot more than we are capable of.
The bigger issue is that animal SOD gave no regard to Christmas. I just got a text from a friend in new jersey that got a laugh from receiving my St Pats SOD official Christmas card. The man is a monster.
Well its made up, but what isnt funny is how almost anything can be said, believed, joins the rumour mill, and becomes 'factual' - all from a reliable source of course! If if it had been less (or even more) outrageous and Id stuck 'fact' at the end it would have undoubtedly ended up on someone's twitter.
But it is LoI and it is a mash up of real different LoI events in to one so maybe any confusion is par for the course and probably shouldnt over roll the eyes.
I should have started with 'a reliable source close to to the clubs' and it could have made tomorrows back page...
Ryan Connolly back at Harps for 2022.

Dylan Grimes to Drogheda. Very happy with that. Stood out for Longford last season. Bring Dervin along with you and a few resignings and we should have a decent chance of staying up. All we can really ask for as looking like 7 of 10 teams going full time next season.
Good luck to him, good player. In other news, Gary Cronin confirmed as Town manager. A more realistic appointment than Vinny Perth ever was anyway. He knows the club well anyway from all his years as a coach.
He will also have access to a lot of players cabo and bray squad together is about 55 players and all have to be mashed into 1 squad.
Dylan Grimes signed for Drogs from Longford
I thought after the slight fanfare of Longford publicly seeking open applications for the job that someone different who's not an ex-player would have got the role. Three attempts at promotion with Bray with good squads without any promotion not sure what upgrade this is from Daire Doyle
longford going nowhere under cronin. terrible appointment
I don't disagree, not too excited about it either. Can't help but think he wasn't who they were waiting for these last few weeks. Then again I expect there's not going to be a lot of money available for a budget so there probably wasn't a huge demand for the job.
will fitz gone from Derry. Back to Waterford?
Mark Coyle signed for Shels from Harps…
Keith Ward signing for Dundalk according to this article.

I've always been a big fan of Keith Ward....well, since Last week anyway :-)
Chris Forrester has signed a new long term contract with pats
Panic on the astro turfed streets of Dundalk.
Not sure what point you’re trying to make?

Depending on who else is signed its a decent signing. Likewise, ive always liked Ward and the way he plays the game. He was getting limited time at Bohs, was that management of his game time (at 31 he still should have something in the legs) or did he just drop down the pecking order? He is creative and is brave with always wanting to get on the ball and that is always needed in a team, he can also kill a close game by recycling possession and stopping a side from dropping too deep when hanging on. He is no Will Patching but yeah I could see where the thinking is if confirmed.
Of course you do! Quickly getting in and getting a star player signed up on a long term deal and announced publicly soon after. Lessons have been learned at St Pats. Owner up front an central for media rather than the manager - its steadying the ship and making a statement to fans. Forrester wouldnt have left St Pats, you said so yerself, well the club is just making sure of that now.
Right ! If you say so. Good to see that you know what the ins and outs of the contract situation with our former (not) manager were.
Any sign of Dundalk making that managerial announcement yet , or who is signing players for you ? Did SOD (off) organise or approve the Ward transfer ?
Fixed that for you :) and to answer your other questions he fell way down the pecking order at Bohs because their other wingers and attacking midfielders are all miles better than him at this stage, hence the massively impressive stats of being selected to start in just 12 games this season with 4 league goals in his last 105 league appearances. O'Donnell working his magic already
Yep that’s it, best midfielder in the league signed up and announced unlike your soon to be head coach who has is signing players for you but has still not been announced by your club despite publicly announcing he has handed his resignation into Pats (you know, what you do when you’re in contract at a club and want to leave)
Keith Ward is like the Irish Paul Dickov, pain in the arse player but you’d have him on your side. Like Nesta said, depends who Dundalk bring in.
