Loan to Watford for the season.

How are Watford these days? I know they were 15th in the Championship, but I have no idea how their recruitment was this summer.
I had a quick look at their squad. It looks like Ryan Andrews, a 20 year old academy player, was their starting right back last year. Cover is Jeremy Ngakia, who is 23 and has been a squad player for them for several years. That sounds like an environment in which Festy can realistically challenge to start.
Scored Watfords opener today…
A possible opening for Festy now on the right wing for November and beyond. McAteer and Sykes would be other possibilities, but Festy seems the most like for like replacement for Ogbene in terms of his out and out pace and style or play.
I'd be happy enough to see Festy get two starts in a row and see how he fares, tough to make an impact and build connections in the limited opportunities he's had, we've seen V Finland and at moments at club level there's an excellent player there, even if it didn't go overly well, I think it would be worthwhile giving him the time.
Seems to be impressing in regular games for Watford at the moment in the Wing Back role. Him and Brady on either flank as a 3-5-2 with Ferguson and Szmodics up top could be a decent future option…
I thought Festy was excellent and (apart from Bachmann) we defended well.
Ebosele was strong in both departments today and looks the choice wing back for me, glad we got him in
I thought Ebosele had a good game. Not quite as swashbuckling going forwards but defended well
Festy put in a huge shift and was rightly our MOTM.

Came off the bench early tonight but went off injured around the 50' mark. Hopefully nothing too serious
I see McNamara also came on and went off tonight - though he only lasted four minutes.
Unusual to be subbed on and off in the same game - let alone have two of our players do it on the same night
Can she play as a full back?
Isn't Festy out injured for awhile?
Bayer Leverkusen
Udinese
Stade de Reims
Real Betis
Istanbul Basaksehir
I can't ever remember a transfer window with as many Irish players being transferred or linked to as many top division continental European clubs.
Makes a change from Robbie Brady to Preston and Enda Stevens to Stoke anyway!
move to Turkey confirmed...

The move to Turkey, on a permanent basis, confirmed. The destinations for Irish players are certainly becoming more exotic!

Not sure what to make of this one. Would have been more enthused if he'd made of an impact at Watford I guess, instead of losing his starting place by November.
Bit of a sideways step I suppose. But let's see how it goes
Festy is a riddle wrapped up in a mystery inside an enigma.
He's a Russian?!
Booo!!
Named as a substitute for Istanbul today

Has he been injured?
Yes been injured since he transfered there, injured playing fior Watford.

On the bench for the Conference League tie against Craiova tonight, but came on after 83 minutes and scored four minutes later to pull it back to 2-1. Second leg in Romania
Sent off after ten minutes of tonight's home game against Trabzonspor, which Basaksehir went on to lose 4-3. They led twice, then equalised in the 91st minute, but lost it in the 100th minute.
Leaves them four points above the relegation zone in 13th; they've only once in their history finished lower in a league table than that, so it's a pretty bad season for them so far.
Really don't understand that red...he got the ball and didn't come from behind...
That's mental. I can't even see why that's a foul, let alone a yellow upgraded to a red after VAR.
Looks a great sliding tackle to me
(Can't work out how to embed YouTube videos any more! Only time I got a video showing, it was a UCD Youth League game for some reason!)
He's a right-sided player playing on the left, so I think his body shape seems a little bit awkward on the turn and maybe it contributes to a sense that it was a dangerous tackle to make. Festy's right leg hits the other guy's standing leg first and that looks bad, but red card seems very harsh indeed.
At normal speed I was giving up, it was a great tackle. In slowmo the right leg/knee clatters the ankle and could have been nasty, arguably dangerous but very unlucky, he couldnt have tried to come down on the ankle like that with his own leg tucked under him if he tried it again.
I watched it ac couple of times and then noticed the ankle of the player and couldn't watch it again.
It's nasty but unintentional from Ebosele. He won the ball and it shouldn't be a red. But it's hard to watch
It is where Rugby is getting it right, TMO review, is there foul play, is there intent, is there mitigation etc? So yellow car in this case at most as a footballig incident, but I will also say that if it was Parrott on the recieving end Id be fuming I think.
I've added a short howto to the important links threads on embedding YouTube videos, hope it helps

Yeah, the problem is the knee of the trailing foot. His leading foot gets the ball cleanly.

Hmmm. A very rare case of a still shot being useful!
Hmmm...is the argument that no matter how it happened, ending up with that kind of impact is dangerous and needs to be punished?
Or is there an argument that tackles or just phsyical contact can bring about these kinds of collisions and it's just part of the sport?
This is an example I always remember of where the most innocuous-looking tackle can still have horrible impact:
