Pristina, this is only their second year in the Europa league, also got an away 0-0 draw, albeit against Luxembourg opposition (Fola technically have a higher coeffecient than well any of the irish teams bar Dundalk)
Ventspils of Latvia 5-0 up on Luftetari Gjirokaster of Albania at half time in the Europa League.
Wonder how long till Gjirokaster get banned for match rigging?
Anyone know how Dundalk have been doing so far? Just joined a stream of it now, 30 mins in 0-0
Levadia have been the better team so far.
Cheers. That electronic scoreboard is something else
damn, Benson way over when he should have slotted it home, tsk
Derry's Euro campaign over inside the first 5 minutes two years in a row.
Dylan ****in Connolly ya boy!!
excellent goal by Dundalk, well worked, great, Dundalk can get another one I think
Fair play Dundalk
How come a team from Malta can put 4 past a seeded (azerbajan) team and Irish clubs struggle to do the same? is it just constant bad luck of the draw?
Also Luxembourg team one nil up against the seeded Azerbajan team...
Dundalk should really be three up. Some great chances being missed.
Gach bliain bíonn roinnt foirne a fhaigheann an lámh in uachtar ar na foirne ainm is a bheith níos fearr, sé sin seeded.
An ceist ná cén fáth nach féidir le foirne na hÉireann é sin a dhéanamh?
Bhí Dún Dealgáin an t aon foireann ainmnithe is a bheith "níos fearr" i mbliana ach bhí 3 foirne Azerbajan... cén fáth nach féidir le foirne na hÉireann beagáinín leanúnachas a thaispeáint?
Why are so few Irish teams unseeded when 3 teams from Azerbajan were seeded? why cant irish clubs show some of the consistency required for seeding in QR1?
Progres the crowd Rovers beat won 2-0 away against Gabala. Weren’t they in the EL within the last couple seasons? Luxembourg football clubs seem to be getting decent results in Europe the last 4-5 years. Are clubs now full time there?
1-0 Dundalk. Missed two very good chances to add to the score, but they'll be happy enough.
14 wins in a row in all competitions. Could have put the tie to bed though.
The bits of the game I managed to see, levadia looked good. Just caught dundalks goal, great ball in and a nice simple finish by Connolly. Expect Dundalk to be comfortable in the return leg
Levadia improved on last years’ side so very impressive result for Dundalk. Nothing silly at home and it should be on to the 2nd round.
Derry 2 down and down to 10 men.
Few new signings and played well enough in that match against a seasoned European side.
Coleraine 1-0 up in Serbia. Great start there
Coleraine 1 up in Serbia.
Gornik Zabrze playing Zaria from Ukraine I see.
Only their second time in Europe since beating Rovers 7-0 in the mid 90s
Thought there had to be money in that League. Must be private funding. Goes to show, that there are few easy Leagues now. Even clubs from Malta and Northern Ireland are winning games in EL the last couple of seasons. The Macedonia League is another one that has improved a lot in recent years.
Lots of bank sponsorship I'd say.
But yeah, it's improved a lot
Rovers losing now. So looks like one win - and one goal - from the four games. Not unexpected though with the difficult draw
Rovers one down I see.
Unseeded or not but **** poor tonight at home from both sides when you see some of the other results in EL from unseeded teams.
Totally agree.
****ing go out try play football and win the game (Cork/Rovers)
And the manager's on holiday.
