I always think of dwight yorke for this. He was good for villa, excellent for United..

No, it was Cole and Sheringham. Apparently, it all went back to when Cole made his England debut, as a substitute for Sheringham, and Sheringham didn't shake his hand.
RMK clearly didn't like Sheringham and mentioned in his first book a few times how he was a shaper. Keane obviously liked Cole as he signed him for Sunderland when he was well past it.
But ultimately, there'll always be players who don't get on in a group but can put that aside when they get on the pitch
Cole strikes me as a bit odd, this was the incident and there was a little handshake there, think Sheringham was just annoyed at being taken off and maybe the foul just beforehand. Certainly nothing that should have caused a lifelong rift.
Anyway, Connolly... :o
Unstoppable today vs the old magpies el Bambino Pons nicknamed him the little buffalo Rooney on espn Argentina. Hendrick invisible today. Clark on the bench
Beautiful finish for Connolly today, 3-0 up in closing minutes vs Newcastle. Fantastic to see it!
Good goal. Also hit the post in what turned out to be an offside move.
Same thing with both, opened his body and tried to curl into the far corner from the left.
What a goal. james McCarthy could bring the ball there to Connolly. Connolly has to play but in a free role like today. The new Rooney doppelganger Pons dubbed him on espn
Any link for the goal guys

Think the goal in a weird way shows what I said about Maupay being poor and Connolly making good runs. Look how long it took for Maupay to play the pass, it was almost too late.
Only turned game on just before goal but commentary so I don't know how well Connolly played overall
Lots of decent runs, didn’t receive the ball a lot. Busy as always.
Won a few good free kicks.
Good hold up and pass to Lamptey on the break from a corner, who should have scored (Lamptey was superb).
Hit the post from a wide left angle, was half a yard offside though, but almost an excellent finish from a difficult angle
I thought that about the runs too. He was getting very frustrated with Trossard I thought. I think the runs issue is probably because he was playing through the middle.
But he caused Lascelles problems. Earned them territory. Had bright moments. Lovely goal. Happy days.
WTF is buffalo Rooney
It was on 'ESPN Play Sur' & 'ESPN2 Sur' in Argentina, according to the Live Soccer TV app.
espn 2 Argentina is where their headquarters are, and they hire people mostly from Spain and Italy, Uruguay and Argentina. Some colombians too because of their suave accent, argentinian and uruguayan accent and the "vos" person from the french and some frenchiee expressions turned into spanish make it awkward for most spanish speakers.
Pons and the doctor Herbella chose "rooney" Connolly as man of the match since Lamptey was hauled out after 55 minutes
Well, bizarre thread but brilliant to see Connolly look the part vs Newcastle. Well taken goal.
I’ll also add the Maupay critics weren’t exactly proven right. Excellently taken penalty and a very cool finish for his goal from open play.
The two can play together and both have an energy and feistiness that will serve Brighton well this season.
Their two league games before Slovakia are United and Everton. Last year, Brighton would often play a 3-5-2, instead of a 3-4-3 like they played yesterday, against the bigger sides. It will be interesting to see if Potter reverts to the 3-5-2 for those matches, which will surely squeeze one of Trossard, Connolly and Maupay from the team. All three did well yesterday so hopefully they persist with 3-4-3 and if they go to 3-5-2 that Potter maintains Connolly.
One kind of sidebar angle to this whole Maupay/Connolly thing is that Connolly was harrying the Newcastle backline and applying plenty of pressure, generated another good chance, and the commentator on the feed I was watching kept calling him Maupay. Then the colour commentator went on and on about Maupay. They must not have been looking at their monitors because the camera was zoomed in right on Connolly after the play. The thing is it happened more than once it was like the commentator thought 9 and 7 were both Maupay.
That doesnt surprise me. I honestly think the standard of football commentary and punditry is absolutely atrocious. You so often hear pundits and commentators pronouncing players names wrong ( DoKherty) or saying things like "I dont know much about this player".
Ive started watching a lot more US sports in recent years since moving here and the standard of analysis and commentary of games is so far above what football does. You rarely get the "at the end of the day hes a top top player, class is permanent" nonsense.
Im struggling even to find a proper podcast I like for football these days with the amount of crap thats talked...... sorry, this has been bugging me for ages!!!
Playing very central against Utd. Brighton have been good. Connolly looks sharp, just the one half chance for a shot a few mins ago. Making good runs again and has held it up well a few times. A couple of good runs not spotted again too.
Opportunity on the counter just now where maybe he didn’t trust his own pace and made a poor decision. Brighton hit both posts and the bar. Penalty now. Pressing Utd really well and Connolly a big part of that.
