Phillip Gannon - God have mercy on whatever club he spoofs his way into. One of the worst midfielders to ever wear the red and black.
Shamrock Rovers in Darren Meenan from Dundalk and also resigned Simon Madden
Thanks for the good work at Dundalk & Good Luck to Darren Meenan at Rovers
I'm amused by Stephen Bradley's comment on the club website
He is about to complete his 4th season with Dundalk (2016 being his least effective one). In 2012 he had a poor single season with St Pats while he hardly set the league alight during the previous season with UCD.Quote:
"We have got one of the best wingers in the country in Darren Meenan. His record over the last five-six years shows that,"
Darren has been very effective for perhaps 3 of the last 5-6 seasons. He is now 30 years old.
Are his best days behind him? Time will tell
Manager talking up player shock
It's probably just that Darren has been trying hard to impress him and the Rover hierarchy for the last 5-6years

It’s everyone’s cup final when Rovers come to town, every player playing against Rovers wants to show that they can play for us, and want to impress us. To be fair, our lads have stood up to that and done very well.
“Every other player gives that extra 5 to 10% against us, I saw this happen as a player and now I’m seeing it again as a manager.”
I have to be honest. I don't spend as much time reading what Stephen Bradley says as you do, so I'll defer to your greater knowledge.
He's great craic. You could do worse then check out his occasional gems here: http://www.shamrockrovers.ie/
Amazing how much interest other regional clubs have in rovers
Can't ever remember myself quoting another manager. Could be wrong
In general Rovers have flown below the radar since 2011. Having headcases like Gavin Brennan, Gary McCabe, Kilian Brennan and Danny North has always attracted interest; the recent annual implosions and Placid Casual's regular bouts of apoplexy also keep the pot boiling
But now that Darren Meenan is signing up, it's a whole new ballgame of excitement
Pretty much every comment I make on dundalk is positive both re europe and also re recent events on ground takeover. Since August and also for many years through good times and bad ( they would be the good years for bohs ) maybe take the blinkers off , the world is not so black and white
No issue that I'm aware of, In general he is well liked and scores goals , but had a lot of anonymous performances when as a senior player surrounded by kids he should have been doing more during the latter half of the season.
Saying that he did have a few excellent matches , it will be interesting to see if he is resigned, Connolly and Corry would both be midfielders but we have a lot more players to sign so maybe he will still fit in.
Always though he was a bit wasted when played in deep midfield 2. Should always be an attacking midfielder imho. The intro of corry and lopes will hooefully enable him to play further forward
Shelbourne's player of the season Jack Brady has signed for Longford. He's a 19 year old goalkeeper. Interesting signing.
Finn Harps sign Danny Morrissey formerly of Cork City!
Waterford (United?) FC have signed Paul Murphy, ex-Waterford United and ex-Wexford Youths.
That's him.
Bray in - Keith Buckley (Bohs)
Galway United have signed David Cawley
