Remember when these were absolute belters.
This album and this song are up there with the greatest things ever released by an Irish band:

Great shout. Absolutely loved this album - one of those rare Irish albums where you could listen to every track.
Have you ever checked out any of Juniper's (Bellx1 plus Damien Rice) stuff? It wasn't great overall but The Weatherman was decent. Always found it strange that Rice went so folksy afterwards though.

I loved Juniper. They were kinda the first band that I "got into" as a proper teen then Damo ruined it. I always felt that they were gonna blow up. But I suppose I would settle for what we got.
See The Immediate and Conor O'Brien/Villagers for a similar scenario. I loved the Immediate. In Towers and Clouds is a cracker of an album.
On a trawl through the early '80s again over the last while (Getting more frequent, this. Concerning) and rediscovered this one, yet another that had its turn as favourite song ever.
'Tis still a gorgeous thing though...

I was on TXFM this morning to add this to sound club.
Impressive to get that on with only a week of the Station left. Soundclub is actually one of their better segments hat deserved to be expanded upon.
It's on their listenback service if you want to hear me "um" and "err" my way through a brief history of why I picked it: http://www.txfm.ie/listenback/1/1548...akfast_Part_3/
Starts just before the 27 minute mark
Even as a band who were almost like Marmite for me since day one. Their performance at EP was something that will go to the grave with me. Definitely nudging the top-5 all-time gigs.
This song live though, has stayed me the way it never did before [much like Face to Face by Daft Punk]. Perfect. Resonates like few others ever have. And making this beyond manky Thursday bearable in this traffic.

Unrayel. Dat drop tho.
And how one continues project work on a Thursday.

Another song that the missus hates for the same reasons.
And another (amazing video too) (I've probably posted this one before)
So this is in my head for whatever reason... 20 years...

Angel on my shoulder says work Monday. Devil on my shoulder says Paul Simon concert.
Tom Dunne had a Kate Bush night tonight and played some stuff of the new album that's being released tomorrow. Remarkable 2 hours of radio, but for some reason something got this into my head, been a while:

Bjork- Play Dead
Just got the Still In A Dream set, like a dog with two!

Although it may not be played tomorrow evening as they are touring Fuzzy Logic... here's to the Super Furry Animals and my a mile my absolute favourite song of theirs and that's saying something given the quality of Radiator, Guerrilla and Phantom Power!

Low played Belfast's Empire tonight, saw them in the same venue 18 months ago and they were phenomenal. Had to work tonight. Damn. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G2xHLAzLZXo&index=3&list=RDvWUQpvfRkVM
This...is....incredible.

Three years on from the remarkable performance on Letterman and it's release, I've fallen back in love with this song. New stuff is great, but good Jesus this is still some whopper of a tune.
I recently started to hear a weird synthy bass in the background that I never heard before and it just re-hooked me. Remarkable piece of work.

And the Letterman performance for good measure:

This was the first time i had seen them........................instantly loved them...............see they will be playing in Europe in the summer...........might go (more than likely not!) (edit......everywhere except Switzerland, lol..........but in Strasbourg in Nov....thats only up the road!. GREAT!)
Love this band
The ticket prices first the Dublin gig are scandalous.
I've seen them plenty in some tiny venues and in some special places. So i won't be too disheartened.
Their second album, "In Evening Air" is a thing of beauty. Get all over it.
Also, Beach Foam from their first album is a stonker live.
Was walking across Stephen's Green there on the way to the office and then these came to mind for the first time in a while.
This song in particular...

It's been way too long since I saw them live. I really hope they surprise me and do Glasto. Please for the love of God!!!
And of course... once that was over I went straight to the masterpiece that is Apocalypso (10 years old next year):

New Irish music. This is just gorgeous. Like something plucked from a Quentin Tarantino film.

No great fan of the country music, but am also somewhat smitten with this tune at the minute

Think this one is still fairly current too, no official vid, wrong singer in this one, but otherwise grand!
