I'm not implying it's anything to do with our match but it's a question of integrity...to make statements like he made about the top junior football competition...well it diminish's the tournament so far and the current draw.

From what I heard anyway, sounds like Regional have a good reason to put in an objection. Don't want to go into the ins and outs but Park have only themselves to blame if they get kicked out.

some mame on the card just sayin sergio as if he was brazilian or something:D

regional should just take there beating. its 11 v 11 no matter who plays

Its that kind of attitude that got Park in this situation

if park had an illegal player on the pitch they have broken the rules,however if all parks players are legal but they just made a mistake on thr refs card then regional are grasping at straws and are quite sad.

A serious doubt has been raised and Regional are well within their rights to have it checked out. Who writes a nickname on a match card? Smells dodgy.

Cant see the big deal really...as long as the player is signed then there is no issue...people who fill out cards are normal guys not lawyers or solicitors.... I'd would say that every week hundreds of names are spelt wrong on cards up and down the country....

any chance of the remaining 2 fai games in limerick going ahead cant see shannon or prospect field being playable til after xmas

Having been on the receiveng end of a few objections, which turned out to be unfounded in the end, I can tell you that it is a big deal.

Ok maybe my point came across wrong...having an objection put in against you is a big deal...bur the reason(in this situation, if the player was signed) isn't a big deal...I mean surely there isn't a case....

That said we shouldn't really speculate lets hope there is no grounds for objection because it was a fantastic result for park( as much as it pains me to say it) :D

From what I hear, the card being filled out incorrectly will be enough for Park to be thrown out. It happened in an earlier round and that was the result of the objection.

ya from what i understand park will be thrown out. the name on the card does not correspond with any player park have signed with any junior team. this has happened so many times before and you wonder why clubs have clowns filling out the match card. feel verry sorry for park players and mgt and as a club but they have broken the rules and you can see why regional have appealed. hopefully a lesson learned to everyone in Limerick league anyway.

Another valid question is what grounds did regional think they had a case for an objection after the match ie. what prompted them to look for the match card immediately after the game?
And for your info. sergio is his name .
The only serious doubt is where did regional get the go ahead to pursue this as you don`t go fishing for the card after every defeat checking to see is everyone signed up unless you have genuine grounds or in this case there is more going on than we know about.
One last point, if regional think they have a divine right to be in the next round that they can`t beat a div. 1b side anyway they have high opinions about themselves and hopefully the wheel will come around for them.

If the FAI throw Park out of the competition for this, does this give license to all teams that have played Park in Div. 1B league games this season to object on the same issue?

No!!! you have 48 hrs to lodge an objection..

No, you need to have an objection "straight away" after a game to get a hearing, talk to the regional boys they must have been told this last week themselves?

This seems like a very honest mistake and is a very grey area when dealing with foreigners who have much different name styles than us paddies. If he was not illegal or suspended then the result should stand. Otherwise you could have appeals based on a simple mispelling of a name. Unless there are other grounds for appeal then Ashling should take their beating and move on, otherwise it reflects very poorly on them

I have to disagree. First off it is a mistake by Park. Whether the person knew how to spell Sergio's surname or not he should of at least made an attempt. If he had no idea what his surname was then surely he had a chance to do it when he had the card. Somebody on the team was bound to know what his name was.

From talking to the Regional crowd the general concensus is they weren't going to appeal if they found a Sergio signed with any of the Park teams but when they looked they didnt find one.

The main defence for Park seems to be that his first name was on the card. Surely that would be no difference to a card filled up with just Michael.....

As Park were due to be the home team, match switched to Regioanl, maybe they just noticed it on the card when they were filling it out second.

If Regional have acknowledged that Sergio Doe was on the field of play and there are no other reasons for objection other than the omission of the players surname, then I would like to think Regional would accept defeat with dignity.

park filled out match card with just sergio on it no surname !!
regional are then claiming no player by this name signed for park afc is this correct..
if park afc have a player called sergio ............ signed will appeal then be rejected or can they still appeal on wrong name on match card .. :confused:

good point WS,but unlikely.either way regional will go after their bit of carrot here.if the lad is not a signed player then by all means regional are quite right to go for it as rules are meant to be adhered to,if he is signed and they objected to his name being a problem on the card then its petty,small minded and sad.if they win their objection on those grounds they would want to make sure they themselves never make even a tiny mistake on a card coz what goes around comes.....it should be a lesson to all,fill that card out properly especially MJC ,FAI.

if you have a spelling wrong on the card or you have,n block named team it can be appealed.

This objection has been raised due to irregularities with the match card. If this had been brought to any other clubs attention in this situation ( The Star Reporter!!! ) , of course they would have to investigate it further. Add to this the fact that there is no Sergio registered for Park - no first , surname or middle name coming close. So to let on that Regional are being ' sad ' is way off the mark. Out of respect for the competition and their own players i'm sure that Regional had little option but to get to the bottom of it. Lastly, if Park have done nothing wrong except make a clerical error then I'm sure a ticking off will be the most they will get.

In fairness that puts a different perspective on the issue. Mis-spelling is one thing but a totally different name or nickname on the card is a schoolboy error by park. Must be very frustrating for Davy who delegates this to others as he is playing. There is no doubt that Sergio is signed and all is above board in that respect the issue is a technical error on the match card. the ruling on this will be interesting.

I find it a bit strange that all the Park posters on here are gone so quiet this week with the news of objections ect...Ye are usually well able to fight yere corner.

Come out lads and tell us whats going on!!!!

Looks like the LDMC were a bit upset that the mighty Regional were beaten last weekend after the 5 'big teams' all avoided eachother in the 4th Round Draw

Ya was a good result could have scored a few more I think and would have preferred not too concede but a win is a win and prospect are a decent team.

Hopefully this objection stuff will be sorted soon as I think the next round is due to take place this weekend...I know if our game didn't go ahead yesterday it was being played Wednesday in jackman.

Fair enough... After the Shn tn win yesterday I hope all this objection stuff is bull. Park vs Shn tn would be very interesting.

For what its worth my opinion is that Regional should hang their heads if they go thru on a ruling like this... All players on the field for Park were legal and thats the bottom line.

Regional V Shannon should be a good game
