Dan Murray and Neal Horgan signed new contracts with City
Actually Jim Magilton has said that Billy clarke does not feature in his plans, his loan is up at xmas for darlington and his contract is up at end of season at Ipswich so chances are that he could end up back here!Quote:
Billy Clarke as in the Ipswich player on loan at Darlington? More chance of Kilkenny City returning to the First Division than him coming back to Ireland
Neale Fenn (Bohemians) and Davin O'Neill (Cobh) to Cork City.
Kevin Murray (CObh) supposed to be on his way to City too
How are Cork signing all these players? Are they actually going to be allowed play Premier football next season? Disgrace.
Current players have taken pay cuts(large ones) and we only have 7 players under contract at the moment.
Its certainly not a sugar daddy pumping money in. Money in =money out
If the deadline is in fact 31st of january(the rule confuses me) then I dont see why not.
we apparently have contacted all players about the payments they are owed.
How so?
It has been fairly well reported that the deadline was November 30th, Cork can claim they weren't aware all they want, but theres not a hope that this is true. If a decent proportion of fans know this, then theres no excuse for the head of a board not knowing it.
And it'd be a disgrace, because there are no point in having such rules if they aren't going to be implemented.
Ps. Sorry for going off-topic.
It's not Nov 30th, read the rule book. If debts are cleared or agreed by Jan 31st, then club meets the licensing criteria. Fact.
How much do CCFC owe in wages?
License agreement rule states, quote: "The licence applicant must prove that... it has no payables overdue towards employees or Revenue/social/tax authorities as at November 30 of the year preceding the season to be licensed unless by the following January 31 they have been fully settled, deferred by mutual agreement with the creditor or are subject to a not obviously unsound dispute submitted to a competent authority."
I just wish people would read the rules themselves before assuming they know what they're on about.
Gints Freimanis also on his way to Cork City
http://ie.youtube.com/watch?v=wCatIHAFnnM
Gints looks like a quality player from that clip. The new Fahey?
We didn't get him registered by the end of the window so he just trained with us and played a few friendlies. Good player but I wouldnt say he'll be the new Fahey!.
Big money in the V- League. It's full of African and Brazilian players. Seriously corrupt though, half the country's referees have been jailed. A fair few players have been done for match fixing too. An ex Pat's player should fit right in!
http://www.thanhniennews.com/sports/...5&newsid=24846
Wouldn't be the first player to go from Pat's to Vietnam.
Or the first to go from UCD to Vietnam!
All our backroom staff got the same afaik, same as other creditors. A lot of them are happy to write off the money(or were a while back when I spoke to them) as most are city fans(in the office anyway).
Its unfortunate but the same happened to the other creditors. They got screwed.
Players will get their money cos they have to for us to get a license.
A Longford fan was telling me Freimanis is class. Mathews sent him up there when we went into examinership, knowing he could bring him back down once we were out.
Apparently he's down here now anyway. And I know its a dangerous game to judge him on a YouTube video but looks promising. Certainly better than playing Darren Murphy right wing, he's a centre mid through and through.
Id imagine anyone with any footballing ability is better than what we have at right wing at the moment
Aye, think he was with them for a bit this season. played for Pats between 1994-98 (ish) and then had a spell with Rovers. Scored crackers in 3 successive games v Southamptn, Sunderland and Tranmere.
Was actually OK for a couple of seasons with us too (in farness) but never lived up to his pre-season displays
Davin O'Neill signs for City. Not a rumour anymore.
Friemanis has signed for us too. He played for FK Riga, who knocked out Bohs (actually found out he set up the goal that knocked them out).
Kdjac eh? The rules of comprehension don't apply to him....
Now read the post again.
1) Where does he say he's happy Fremanis signed
2) Even more importantly, where does he say he's happy it was at the expense of ticket.
The people who sell us our tickets(Ticketscan) agreed to the 7.5% along with other creditors.
NO city fan, is happy we went into examinership, or that our creditors, most of them City fans got screwed. but it happened, theres nothing we could do about it(as fans) and forgive me for being happy that the club came out of it.
We are starting afresh, with a new owner, and he is putting in place structures to guarantee we dont spend more than we bring in, from now on.
The whole point of examinership is to sort out the debt owed, generally paying a percentage of it, and move on with a clean slate. Its unfortunate for those who lost money(my sister was one of the staff who did) but we must move on.
Most City staff are happy with the arrangement at present, anyone who leaves(or has left) because of the money they didnt get, I wish them nothing but the best in the future.
We are signing Fremanis because within our new sustainable budget, with our new owner, we will have 16full time players and he will be one of them, not because Arkaga managed to screw money out of my sister and others.
