Neil, the style of Spurs play and the attacking flair players they have ensure that many more chances are presented to Keane than to Doyle. I wonder what there respective percentage rates are with regards to shots/goals.
According to opta Robbie Keane's Conversion rate (22%) is behind only Nicholas Anelka (25%) Not sure what Doyle's is
doyle and keane are both top quality and it will be up to our next manager to get them working together as a unit. would rather have a big quinn type player up front with one or other of them but we dont so we will have to get these two firing together.
havent seen a huge amt of doyle this season but what i have seen has impressed me. chelsea would be a bad move to me and he should stay at reading
I must say that Keane and Doyle were very good together in Cardiff, they worked as a pair. This was due in my opinion to Don Givens working with them in training. Just goes to show that Staunton did not do anything in the training sessions.

Saw that rumour from The Telegraph. Guardian says Villa is looking at Defoe.
I think Doyle plays very similarly to Larsson and would do well under O'Neill. He's building a decent side at Villa, but would he be an automatic starter with Carew and Agbonlahor there?
id say a manager like O'Neill would get the best out of Doyle..Id like to see him there..for me carew is a spent force, both yooung and agbonlathor arent goalscorers, doyle would be a perfect centre forward in a three pronged attack of Young, Doyle, Agbonlathor

If it happens I think it would be an ideal move for both Doyle and Villa.As stated by others, O'Neil is a good manager and is slowly getting a good team together.Kevin would flourish, particularly with his great heading ability at the end of good crosses from Ashley Young.......and We would obviously benefit from Doyle's progression:)
I wouldn't mind this, he's definitely good enough to play for Villa, and it would hopefully mean a chance for Long to establish himself as a Reading starter.
That said, I'd be happy enough if he stayed with Reading.
It'd certainly be a good move for him. Lita and Kitson are probably better than what Villa have up front, never mind Doyle.
I see Man City are linked with Podolski for a reported price of €15m. imo Doyle's just as good and I'd love to see him play for a team like City. He'd be playing as a lone striker in a very creative team and it would at least give us a bit of variety away from the 4-4-2.
As a Villa supporter it would be great to have an Irishman in the team again. I reckon he would start. I like Carew but he seems injury prone and never lasts to full 90 minutes. Agbonlahor is a wide player for Villa. Himself and Young play either side of Carew - 4-3-3 / 4-5-1. Its a formation that works but i'd like another striker added to the mix, maybe leave out a central midfield player, i.e. Petrov whose been very poor for Villa.Quote:
