Longest Running eL Transfer in living memory seems to be over as City have agreed a deal with Sunderland.
Reportedly
* 500k euro initial payment.
* 500k add-ons.
* Medical to complete.
* Personal terms to agree (8k euro a week should make that easy).
* O'Donovan to stay at CCFC until August 31 (unconfirmed).
I am just happy it is finally over.

I don't know if that is for certain or just speculation.
Roy Keane wants him TOMORROW so the 31st August option looks gone!
Mid table here we come! Yee Haw!
Good deal for Cork, but sunderland seem to have paid over the odds for a few players this summer. I think Fulham would have given O'Donovan much more opportunities to push for a place in the team.
What kind of financial impact will this deal have on Cork, assuming reported details are correct and it goes ahead? Fee spoken for already or available to invest?
I'm a bit worried for the lad, Keane has admitted he never seen him play but heard good reports. From a LOI fans point of view, I hope he doesn't sit in the reserves or get the odd League Cup game. More to the point, I hope it's not another PR stunned by SAFC to gain more support in Ireland. A lot of premiership clubs have done this before.
O'Donovan is moving to a club with far superior everything to what their is on this island.
He will be training with far better players, in far better facilities by far better coaches. If he doesn't get a chance with Sunderland, he will get a move somewhere else in England and if he is good enough he will get himself back up into the Premier League.
Personally though I think he is a Championship standard player.
I think O'Donovan has bags full of talent & he can make it in England. Just hope this doesn't damage his career. What's the bets Stan will call him up now?
Would it be fair to say that Roy O Donovan has looked like a better player in the LOI than Doyle when he was at Cork
I don't know much about Doyle in the Eircom but was he not a couple of years younger than Roy?
I hope Roy does make it, although it is a great reflection on LOI football, but if Linfield continue to compete and beat LOI teams, then it is bound to give us a roll on effect.
