Wouldn't even be just before kick-off either. They'd probably glance at the main stand ten minutes before kick-off - the weather was nice before the game started, so there were a fair few on the other side under the press box - make up a figure and then worry about what they're going to say in their preview; by the time they get on air, the figure is nonsense. I know we don't have the biggest crowds in the league, but that still doesn't excuse reporting nonsense.
It wasn't just in passing though; they had a long piece about you moving your games last night i think, so they were asking with that in mind
Radio today said some GAA football/hurling division 2A game had 6 more people. Reporter had time to count them all...Quote:

It was even worse than it appears. There were four clubs involved, Rainey OB played Youghal in the Junior Final and Cork Con played St Mary's College in the Senior.Quote:

Youghal can count themselves lucky that they didn't have

Radio said 1500 as well apparently.
Drogheda is always a hard one to guesstimate, but it looked a typical Drogs-UCD crowd. Maybe 1500 also?
After seeing that match tonight if there was 1500 then a lot of them will never go again.Quote:
