Fortunately for Kerry FC, their home ground is no more than 2 Km from the Centre of the town of Tralee. A new walkway from the town that can take you to a seaside area goes right by the grounds which is roughly a 15-20min walk for most in the town. Add to that is no more than a 5-7 min drive, it�s a huge plus for getting bigger consistent crowds.

The Killarney Celtic manager, Brian Spillane, has confirmed he has been offered the Kerry U19 managerial position for next year, but has yet to decide either way.

Honestly - if Kerry aren't a shoe-in for a league license at this stage, then who the hell would be ? I don't recall any other club being so organised or professional in the run up to a league application.

Radio Kerry's flagship sports programme, Terrace Talk, had a 30-minute piece on Kerry FC last night (begins about 5 minutes into the link below), talking to all the principal figures involved - largely concentrates on the work that has been done to date, and also hopes for a women's team further down the line:

With the FAI Cup Final fixed for Nov 13th and the promotion/relegation playoff final also down for that weekend, it would make sense for licensing announcements to happen the following week, although given the real possibility of a play-off team reaching the Cup final, that could further extend the playing season.

Kerry's Eye confirms that the completed application was duly submitted on schedule yesterday - there'll be virtually nothing to report for the next two months, given that'll presumably largely consist of e-mail correspondence and visits to Tralee.

Oh the innocence of a new applicant. There are the "ah come on lads", "that's what you told us last year", and "you were supposed to have this sorted months ago" stages that they don't like to broadcast.

Boxes continue to get ticked, surely at this point the club will have to announce the manager soon. November is leaving it late to get some decent players (Kerry born) on who have been with neighboring clubs the past few seasons. You'd imagine Billy Dennehy would be a shoe in, but Kerry FC also have Brendan Maloney coaching their U17's. Former Nottingham Forest Defender who played in the Championship may would be a contender also.

Treaty United were left with a very late application approval. November is fair enough for approving a licence. Fixtures then to be announced in December.

Se�n O'Keeffe quoted in Kerry's Eye saying that managerial announcements will be made when the process is over, but given the story above about the U19s, candidates for the senior post are also presumably being interviewed. As for players, the Terrace Talk interview mentioned they'd interest about trials from Kerry-born LoI players - Matt Keane would seem the most likely, as Treaty fans here have suggested before.

Does Billy Dennehy have his A Licence for the First Division?

You'd also presume they're working in the background on this sort of thing without announcing it publicly anyway.
