According to Roddy, he'll be sticking with the squad that earned Mons fourth place in the league anyway. Can't say fairer than that.

A lot more than that folowed United when last in the first division to be fair.
How will losing every game in the Premier division improve our club? We have to cut our cloth to suit our measure. The nub of the problem is three teams in a city / county that can't support one and the fact that so much historical crap exists that the three clubs can't sit together and plan for the future betterment of football in the county. Now, for once, I'm not arguing with you gufct and will still be there in whatever league next year.
Galway getting a Premier licence and Galway being in the Premier Division are 2 completely different things. Will ye cop that.
are relegated, forget about the premier, its Jackman Park, Flancare, Lissywoolen, fahys Field and Drom for us if we are lucky and we secure licence. Thats the battle now, get licenced build a club first and any notions of premier are that ..notions. Work to be done lets focus on the job in hand
Nothing to do with it.Quote:

County Galway is a huge place, it should be able to sustain several clubs.

Galway havent won a trophy since 1996
i dont know how we have 10 fans, Im sure real rovers heads also remember when they were at their lowest their was no one clapping them on the back but plenty sneering at the lunatics trying to turn their ship around. Its a lonely place saving clubs.
Bonnie, will you go over to the FAI cup thread and let us know your feelings/opinion. Or maybe your're a bit tender right now :( ?
Limerick will be in before us no matter what happened before. Getting fudged into a division has proved no good to my club, left it massively in debt with a shameful football infrastructure despite all the money that sloshed around.
Under licensing rules we have found a loophole, something that could hurt any club if it doesnt go unchecked. The biggest issue is "footballing debts" the interpretation of this seems to be strange, you would presume it means managers, coaching staff of course players, Technical staff, Physio etc to protect those in the game.
In our case we have the situation where a director (not a football director) has put his claim last year under "footballing debt" made a payment arrangement with himself and lodged it all under licencing under "football debts" with no back up but has it acknowledged from the club which was under the total control of the director who directed the licence officer that it was a valid "footballing debt" and its automatically accepted by the licence process. No appeals, no comeback no cross checking even for someone in such control. Now the LOI is notorious for having clubs being run by one man bands so this it seems is a danger to all the people at clubs like genuine football staff the very ones the process is supposed to protect
This could be a danger for all clubs if any ceo sticks in a claim and can hold everyone to ransom a year later. Does anyone here have experience of this.

In Galway, people have 3 clubs to support, over a very wide area.
Exactly. Plus a rugby team now playing at the highest level in Europe which has sold over 3500 season tickets. Many of these tickets were purchased by fans who previously drifted to Terryland. United will be a hard sell to city-based sports fans next season, whatever the division, never mind in the county. Likewise, potential sponsorship revenues in the city are flowing into the Sportsground where Connacht rugby has finally got their marketing right. Plus every kid in the county wants a Connacht top for Xmas.

any sense you were talking (and there was very little) went out the window whern you quoted that pat dolan. why would you assume he has any knowledge on running a club.read him weekly and you will find out how little he knows about football.
