Was watching United V Liverpool last night from 93/94 season and was surprised at how many through balls and long passes Keane picked out. Forgot how he could play a few different roles at a young age. Anyway, I think I'd like to see Gibson with United for another year and see if Ferguson gradually places more and more trust in him. If by next season he's still in the same position then I think it would be time to move on
Lay off the abuse this time, Tets and East Terracer.
Perhaps that plays some part in some of the abuse the lad gets. However, in my opinion the more educated among us view him as too inhibited for the position that he plays in. Doesn't show for the ball half as much as he needs to and should get away from United to progress his game. Playing with players of their quality is more likely to cover up his deficiencies rather than move him along. His own response to previous suggestions of this type would suggest to me that he's not ready to accept that these need to be worked on.
I wouldn't go along with that. Playing at a higher level exposes exactly the limitations you've mentioned. It's much harder to play for a side that are expected to win every game, and win well, than a side with more expectations.
not in the squad at all tonight, neither is O'Shea
carricks been immense and i see united are in for at least one midfielder this year id say even if just acholes gone that's it for him.
Sounds like Gibson and Rooney have patched things up. They were on the same team in Socom today, triumphing over Rio Ferdinand and the Da Silva twins.
Gibson starts for United in their match against Schalke this evening.
as does John O'Shea at Left Back
Gibson looking eager to win and get on the ball. Only three minutes gone but hopefully a good sign.
Looked in a lot of pain after winning a tackle and getting a kick to his lower right side in the process. On his feet again now and back on the field so hopefully OK to continue. Maybe winded or something; not sure.
Playing some lovely passes, one of them an assist. Good urgency in his play too.
Just had to be his night after his nuts escaped the chop.
He's been excellent in the first half
Has been a great first-half display from Gibson. Delighted for him. Maybe the Twitter experience was exactly what he needed to spur him on and off his laurels. He played a lovely pass through to Valencia for the first goal, after having won a tackle and embarking on a very positive attacking run with intent a few minutes earlier. The goal he scored himself had an element of luck to it with Neuer making a shambles trying to handle what was, all things considered, a stinging effort on target. Fantastic to see him central to the action.
Darron doesn't find the ball, the ball finds him.
Bill reckons Schalke have to score 4 to go through.
He wouldn't be wrong. ;)
