No excuse for that.
Disgraceful card received. This stuff usually ignored by the authorities wrt McLean abuse.
I recall Colin Murray having a dig at McLean after MOTD 2 over the poppy - clearly aimed at stirring up the hate.
Kick it out have issued a statement: https://www.kickitout.org/news/kick-...-james-mcclean
Not sure why he left match of the day, but he left Talksport after they were bought by NewsCorp, who also own the sun, and as a Liverpool fan he couldn't in good conscience stay there.
Interesting, never knew that. Piece on his MOTD departure here - https://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/n...-29040166.html
Quote:
It is understood Murray was looked upon as irritating by some of the Match of the Day pundits who felt he was there to ask them questions rather than offer his opinions on matches and players, which he regularly did.
It's more likely the MOTD pundits were discomfited by this annoying paddy who didn't know his place in the proper order of things, rather than the BBC taking issue with Murray's indirect stab at the lone dissident's gesture against the glorification of all those who died in the 'great' cause of british imperialism.
At the time I thought McClean should have ignored him as Murray habitually winds people up with no great ulterior motive outside the actual wind up. McClean got wound up, Murray has a wee chuckle.
At least yer man remembered his Birthday .
Didn’t Man City upset one of their players by not remembering his birthday one time .
I suppose yer man has no family and just wants to be loved by someone .
That was Yaya toure, and it was his agent agitating for a move. Turned out City had remembered his birthday.

On the same day a Shinner MEP wore his jersey in European Parliament!
Crouch says Stoke dressing room respected McClean’s poppy stance but doesn’t equate his abuse to racism levelled at certain English players recently
https://www.rte.ie/sport/soccer/2019...-poppy-stance/
Maybe I'm over-reacting but I think it's disgraceful that Crouch got away with that on Irish radio. Demonstrated to me why Sean O'Rourke is, in my view, one of the most bland and average broadcasters on the radio and I think a more spiky host would have pulled Crouch up on it.
Again, I may he over-reacting and maybe misinterpreting Crouch but how is Bulgarians abusing black Englishmen racism and Englishmen abusing Catholic Irishmen not? If that's what he was implying then he's very ignorant.
I think he's saying that 'hating black people' is not the same as 'hating someone who doesn't wear a poppy'. Obviously the situation is more nuanced than that unfortunately.
Okay, I took it one step further as regards the expression of this hatred. As we know, the supporters that hate McClean for not wearing a poppy don't shout stuff like "Where's your effing poppy? Eff you for not wearing a poppy!" Maybe some do shout stuff like that!
Funny turn of events as Michael O'Neill becomes James' new club manager at Stoke.
He might take off the IFA cap now so it may not impact one jot.
I guarantee NI hire some sh*t Scottish manager and return to form
Interesting to see kilbane not wearing a poppy on match of day 2 last week definitely did last year
Stoke are 2-0 up at half time away to Barnsley. McClean starts on the left wing and Ward is behind him.

'I don’t think Stephen is too worried' - McClean slams Breen and Hunt over Kenny remarks https://the42.ie/5071911
Fairly soft comments from Breen and Hunt see McClean go in over the ball with the studs showing. I do enjoy him though.
He's his own solo choir singing 'we all dream of a team of James McCleans'. For most us that kind of dream involves waking up and refusing to turn off the light until the noinster comes out from under the bed!
And as for having a go at Stephen Hunt for his mediocre career: quiz question - which of the two wingers actually won a medal in the UK?
Give him a platform and he's like a poor man's Roy Keane at this stage.
There is a lot more to James interview in the Derry Journal than the 42 website has reported. He talks in depth about Kenny himself and the team.
He name drops more than once your lad Molumbuy at Millwall(?) as a player he expects Kenny to elevate straight away and says from playing against him he thinks he is top class.
Not sure if full interview is on the horrendous Derry Journal website, I will try out a photo of it up tomorrow if not.
