Two huge games for Westport United at the weekend. The U.14s are in Boyle on Saturday in the semi final of the Connacht Cup, while the Juniors take on West United in the quarter final of the Connacht Cup on Sunday. Plenty to look forward to.
Westport United lost in both games. The U.14s lost 2-0 with goals either side of half time. The Galacticos were controversially beaten in the Connacht Cup by West United 4-2 on pens after a 2-2 draw. Cam and Lovejoy got the goals, but the game was marred by controversy.
The U.14s are at home to Seatown on Saturday in the last 16 of the SFAI with kick off at 2:00. Hope to see a good crew at the game. Winners are away to Belvo in the quarter final.
The Galacticos are home to Ballinasloe Town in the Connacht Senior Cup quarter final on Sunday with kick off at 2:00. Winners are away to Mervue or Salthill Devon in the semi final. Get your bums on seats for that one.:D
mervue beat salthill 1nil in that quarter final. ye will beat ballinasloe. they're not great, tricky winger and decent centre midfielder but i would expect ye to win.
we might get our wish of a celtic v westport connacht senior cup final instead of junior cup!!
westport will probably win it alright, can't really see celtic going far as dec is using it for trying out players for the beggining of the a league and we are really struggling for players sunday! best of luck to westport though on sunday, ye should beat them, we were the better team and deserved to win on the day against them, they're a dirty team though so get stuck in hard on them!!

The Galacticos are in the final of the Connacht Senior Cup!!:D Stuffed Ballinasloe Town 4-0 with Dessie grabbing a brace, spiderman netting and a wonder strike from Scah. The Louisburgh Lion got the only goal as they beat Mervue 1-0 with Martin McGreal pulling off a Gordon Banks save late in the game.
The U.14s beat Seatown on penalties before losing to Belvedere in the quarter final of the SFAI Goodson Cup.:ball:
And after a timeout, the Thunderblaster is back to spread the good news of Westport United!!:D
The Connacht Senior Cup final is in Milebush on 16th May. Coves to win!!:D
Heard in a pub the other evening that there is meant to be a good signing for the first team and he's a non-national. Don't have further details and I'm not sure whether the story is authenticated.
Fair play to Westport, super result. Seems strange to me that there have not been more congratulations from Mayo teams and club members; great result for Westport and Mayo football. Maybe a few jealous people out there? Well done from Fahy anyway!
