Can't see the games going ahead tomorrow night over Paddy Cusack passing away
it is not boro's fault that pike have players on the O/T.. and Balla do not....
Boro will not be giving a walkover to balla.. and if my memory serves me Balla did not give the boro a walkover last season when in the same position..If pike are good enough to win the league they should concentrate on THEIR OWN fixtures...I dread to think what might happen if god forbid the boro took point off pike next thursday night.... why is this fixture the last fixture for pike...? boro will have nothing to play for then either...
your missing the point leather. the point isn't that boro will have nothing to play for its that boro will be missing their best players against balla and will be available against pike
i agree. there is no balance. i remember when a player decided not to play OT then he was suspended. were any of the 3 balla players on the original panel suspended due to this?
the match is fixed and unless it is called off in respect to Paddy Cusack then so be it.
If pike win their 2 remaining matches it does not make a difference.
i would hope that they would play for their club and for their own pride...
we dont make the fixtures and unlike some clubs we have no control over the fixtures...
whose to say that the boro will be at full strenght next thursday??? work injuries and suspenions.... i doubt if the boro have fielded their strongest team on more than 4 or 5 occassions this season..because of the above reasons..
how about the boro give both balla and pike walkovers ..... would that be better for you..?
Why teams can't just go out and play games when they scheduled instead of giving out about the fixtures and when they ar on and teams getting favoured and all this crap..Players get injured, players have to work, players go on holidays etc etc....Thats why teams have squads(subs)..If players are unavailable then thats why they come in...Hate all the bull about teams bein favoured by fixtures and all that....Its just the way they come up ...Simple as that!! I think we had to play 6-7 of the top teams over and after xmas and we didn't complain..We just got on with it which teams have to do!!!
well said a voice of sense...
Leather if boro were going for the league it would be a different story from you.
Summerville, so from a relegation point of view. I'm sure you weren't too happy when star didn't have anyway near a full team against corbally the other morning. Now that was star that fielded that team for various reasons but none of those reasons were caused by the fixture secretary
you cant be relying on other teams either at the top or the bottom simple as.........
well to be honest it would have been nice to see star give them a game or even beat them but they didn't so that ends that...We are in the postition we are in because of ourselves and its up to ourselves to try get out of it...I wouldn't say no to a bit of help on the way but what better way to get yourself out of trouble then by doing it yourself against whoever.(doesn't matter who)....
Didnt Shane play in Jackman Park for the minor final recently enough?Quote:
i think this is abit much just an excuse if you ask me,
I think it's the interest more than anything.
well said,if a team concentrates on winning there own games favours will not come into it.if you ask me most teams in the premier suit themselves and help out nobody,(maybe except for balla and carew afew years ago to deny pike the league):) as summervilleman pointed out earlier people work,go away on hols, etc.i dont know of a team in the premier who havent been severly weakened on occasions thru one reason or another.(aisling, boro, corbally, carew, star and even pike have struggled to get teams out this season.)being honest i dont think anybody goes out with the intention of letting another team win.its complete b*ll.a manager can only play what he has available
what i was trying to say, ignoring people hols, working etc. The norm in the past was if you had 2 players on the ot you had no match. I expect the boro players to be available for the OT, and will therefore miss a match ion the morning for the boro which they would normally have been available for.
It is unusal but as said everybody will get on with the fixtures and see what pans out !!
how the memories disappear, pike had to wait 3 weeks for balla to catch up in something like 5/6 games 3 years ago and now balla have a crib about fixtures, pike have 5 players travelling to donegal on sunday .balla have none as shane guerin has pulled out and pike are being asked to play again tuesday night,
Pike are league champions
In fairness to Balla, there concistency caught them out
maybe with a bit of luck they would be crowned league championsllll
Runners up in the MFA and Quarter finalists in the FAI
Too many games IMO caught them out
And still perhaps another 8-9 games left half way through May
Tough luck balla
Pike are clear favourites to win the league but im sure Balla won't give up as long as they have a chance to catch them, the MJC final defeat could spur them on,but then again it could shatter their confidence,I tipped them a while back to win the league, and personnaly hope they do(no offence Pike fans)they could also win 2 cups,so all is not lost, they could end up with 3 trophys, which would be a great achievement, intersting to see how they preform sunday against Janesboro
whinging???
kettle and pot come to mind bud with your crew...
i have always thought that the idea of a complete fixture list for each half of the season would go a long way to stopping some of the crap that gets put up here.it was tried a few seasons ago and was a success.. unfortunatley the powers that be went back to the old system of favours and postponments when it suited certain clubs......
heard that half the boro team are off to cardiff t-morrow, organised by the players. a.barry on hols , ado injured, a carroll playing o/t... c,mon the B-team.
I hope your taking the ****, but if thats true then fair enough. Missing players for that is all part of it, but I'll try and make my point AGAIN to some of you. Its alot harder to take when a team is short players because of the OSCAR TRAYNOR team
Pike will be happy....
ah! too have influence
makes sense to have them off, with the munster match on aswell
No disrespect meant and too repeat what Mr P.Cusack (r.i.p) used to say to me about matches being cancelled because of a bereavement.." if they are above the ground, the match is off, if they are in the ground, the fixture goes ahead". might sound a bit cold but it was a fair comment...
No chip on my shoulder bud...some of the best football people in limerick are true pike supporters. Maybe if some of the pikeys on here refrained from bitching about everybody getting preferential treatment from council(in their eyes).I might then be able to have a discussion about football with them.. I could give you a list the length of the pike field about percieved bias asainist my club by council that even you would be shocked at ...I imagine all clubs feel the same way but you dont have them bitch'in and moaning about everything...
