The Bray highlights are awful quality.
Cobh match didn't look great, commentary was a bit...weird.
We need to move the gantry to the other stand. Would look so much better
They only had to announce 5 first division results but they still managed to make a mistake....they said that we drew 1-1 with Galway.
Whats the point of telling people to e-mail the show when they never read out any. I sent in an e-mail about the standard of refereeing and it was never read like every other one that was sent in.
During the Dave McKeown feature did anyone else notice Tom the Gom waiting at the referees door?:D:D
the lighting at all grounds bar dalymount and the brandywell is truly shocking. The Fai should be talkin to rovers, sligo, cobh and bray. Years looking for a quality highlights package all to fall short because of light bulbs? its mad Ted
feck, forgot to watch it.
In the sixty second feature, one of the questions was "if you had to kiss one of your team-mates, who would it be?". What answer did she think she was going to get there?!?
So they know how to improve things? The point of e-mailing them isn't necessarily to satisfy some ego-crusade by having your name said out on telly.
The ref segment was very good; nice to get an insight into why decisions were made rather than simply abusing the ref for them without understanding what happened.
60 seconds is still silly, although less silly when it's one of your players featured.
The McKeon feature was really good I thought; and it meant they could show what was their live game on Friday from a different angle; Fahey's goal was great - sorry they didn't get the melee from the Jodi side - I'm convinced I saw Ryan swing at Brennan, which means the lino saw it too.
tut tut
made me laugh seeing tom at dalymount...they should do a feature on him some week!
thought the referee thing was interesting, doubt they train 5 nights a week though.
the referee in the shams-cork game was a disgrace, stone wall penalty for rovers, and never a free kick for their goal. that one in 'sixty' is hot....they should have her on the panel every week.
Wasnt it weird listening to mckeown briefing his assistants about a possible melee before the game and it practically pans out exactly like he said with the keeper running out.
FECK!! didnt get to see it tonight :( me maaaa introduced me to her new bf! I was feckin itchin to run away for the show! feckin feckers anywayz!
Will the whole show be archived on RTÉ's website by any chance??
The foul on Dessie Baker was laughable alright. But if you want to see a bad ref you should have seen the ref in Cobh on Saturday. There was a Galway defender who punched the ball out for a corner and in the 1st half one of the assistants flagged offside for a throw.
Jacqui Hurley does that sixty thing and shes not bad on the eye alright. One day she will get a response from a player where the question is "Who is your ideal women?" and the cheeky fecker will answer "you":D
Excellent show this week. Thought Mr. Foley done very well. Seems an intelligent chap. The ref feature was fantastic I thought. Very well made. All round, very good show
'im being told we must take a break now, so see you after....oh wait no we don't''
really should try and eradicate things like this, somethin similar happened last week, funny enough though
maybe they should try to get referees to ive interviews after the games at every match aswell, worth trying it anyway
anybody know when MNS from tonight will be on rte.ie?
first time to see the programme and thought it was excellent. very interesting feature on the referees. fair play to them for the time and effort that goes into it. but i will still critisise them every weekend for making the wrong decisions.
At the bohs-pats game i thought that ryan threw a punch but it was not picked up on the tv. i wouldnt have sent brennan or ryan off. joxer should have went for the shocking tackle on fats just before that incident
Why was there a mirror in the referees room?
Was it to check that their egos were still in place?
It was hardly for Dave McKeown to fix his hair.
MSN No. 2 was superb this week.
I very much enjoyed it and would give it a 9.5 out of 10
The only gripe would be the cameras at the Brandywell and Sligo Showgrounds were not facing the main stands. RTE promised this for every match recording. It's up to officials at both clubs to make sure any TV cameras face towards the main stands.
Worked fine for me!
Only saw the first half of the show and twas good, but is sorely lacking of replays in general.
When they started discussing the referee at Tolka, Foley mentioned the "debatable penalty decision" while they showed Rice's goal. Still some things to iron out that if persist could really spoil the good core.
does anyone have a copy of this week's edition recorded that they can stick onto a DVD for me?
renumeration will be forthcoming
Area you sure of that BSG?
I'm not disagreeing with you but, if it's the case that they did promise it, I will try to get onto RTE and maybe GUFC not to let them use main stand. There was a brand new gantry built in the old stand in Terryland.
If RTE promised, I'll be damned if I see them get away with changing their minds.
Terryland looks infinately better when view from the old stand.
You can see well ove the top of the old stand as it is now.
When the camera is in the old stand it makes the new stand look quite impressive.
Sorry for the wander off-topic...
EDIT
Its unlikely I know but... BSG, can you remember where you read that RTE promised to do that? Would appreciate it if you could remember...
I would also take a copy of the MNS programme's if someone has them saved.
Does anyone know if it is possible to save the stream off the RTE site?
Have some friends overseas that for one reason or another cannot seem to be able to get the bloody thing up. I would send them the file if I knew how, or if one of yee had it taped and had it on dvd...
