Celtic B could have lost by a cricket score yesterday, I only saw the last half hour but chance after chance was either wasted or saved. Surely there must be more players available to the managment or it could be long season. Partry were a decent team but no more than that.
Maybe there was chances earlier in the game as I said I only saw the last half hour in which at least 5 good chances were missed or saved.
Celtic had a few good chances also in fairness. Partry took the 1st goal well and the Celtic keeper messed up for the 2nd, they had maybe one other clear chance when they had a man clean through.
Maybe could have got 3 goals, think 5 is a bit generous.
Partry have a nice squad, bit of pace and experience.
Celtic are on a sharp learning curve, yesterday the lads put in 100%, on another day could have scored a few.
Best of luck to the U-12, U-16 & U-18's in the connacht Cup finals at the weekend. Celtic, Mervue & Salthill have two teams in the Cup finals and Celtic one in a sheild final. Not surprisng three best youth clubs in Connacht by a long way.
U16s should beat manorhamilton in shield final.
U12s vs. salthill and U18s vs. mervue will be very tight and too difficult to call.
wish all teams all the best
best of luck to our teams in the 3 finals at the weekend.to john and his young 12's,pat and the 16's and paul in the blue ribbon event of under age football in the under 18 final all the best lads do yourselves proudhttp://foot.ie/forums/images/icons/icon14.gif
congrats to paul large and his troops on winning the U18 connaught cup yesterday. a fantastic display by the lads with peter dravins getting a hatrick.3.0 did not flatter them in any way and probably should have won by more. well done to all involved with the squad fantastic achievment
brilliant performance by celtic to win their third connaught youths cup in four years. they blew mervue away and mervue beat salthill in the semi final and salthill are now in the all-ireland final. this shows how strong this celtic team is and with a bit more luck they could have gone a long way in the all-ireland cup aswell. give this squad 2-3 more years and they can get celtic into the eircom league first division and should be more than able to hold their own. well done to paul and all the lads :D
congrats to paul large and his troops on winning the U18 connaught cup yesterday.
Well done to Paul and the U-18 squad on winning the clubs third Connacht Cup in four years against Mervue Utd. The U-12's were just outstanding on Saturday what a great second half performance, if they had their Irish international the story would have been so different. U-16's were just to laid back and let the sheild slip away. Overall a great weekend for the club and the future looks bright at underage level.
u18 quigley cup semi final
celtic 4-1 achill
decent performance. celtic missing 11 players from last weeks connaught cup win. celtic looking for 4 quigley cups in a row
they were decent you know. played nice football aswell. they put it up to our lads but didn't create much. yer no.6 in the middle of the pitch had a nice left foot and ye had a no.9 aswell that looked a very good player. there is the makings of a good team there.
cheers
Westport A 4 Vs 1 Celtic B
all the lads played well and gave everything they could. The pitch was very disappointing, it was gravel more than sand and clay, but i am by no means saying this is why we lost to them.
Westport Midfield attached in waves which worked well till we stopped it for a while. There could have been cases for both sides getting another goal each, but them's the breaks.
Thanks to the 3 Celtic Fans that travelled !!!!!!!!!
Well done to all the lads involved with St Pat, Breaffy & Derrywash on winning the EA Sports Connacht titles yesterday. Credit to the teachers but also to all the Celtic coaches involved in developing these players. St pat; ( 7 out of 8 from Celtic), Breaffy (5 out of 8 from Celtic), Derrywash (2 lads on the team)
Well done to everyone last night for a hard earned win. Great start. Anymore players to join the squad.
fai senior cup
mayfield 3-2 celtic
apparently we missed a number of great chances to win the game with mayfield down to 10 men. these things happen though, best of luck to mayfield.
celtic now concentrate on a top of the table clash v salthill next week possibly friday night
Well done to Tom whos doing well at Town. A nice guy too

we were awful unlucky, we were the better team and had all the chances the only 3 chances they had they scored and it came from us making schoolboy mistakes, but thats cup football. would have been nice to have won, mayfield got bohs away in the next round...
I have read here before how ye are missing the Leaving Cert players, 3 in all I believe. Is this the case ?
Well done to St Pat's and DerryWash on winning the EA Sports All-Ireland National Soccer finals in Tullamore yesterday. Breaffy were unlucky and finished second in their section. Well done also to the clubs in developing these players. Celtic had 14 lads involved out of the 24 players that took part.
Great 3-2 win by the seniors last night over an excellent Salthill side, also the U-12 A team had a good 4-1 away win over K&K Utd and the U-12B team defeated Ballina B 5-3. Well done to all.
Best of luck to Paul and the boys in the 2nd Rd
B's lost 4-2 to Crossmolina. I heard didnt play to bad.
I was at the game, they lost 3-1.They conceded 2 very sloppy goals and should have at least got a draw out of the game. They played all the football in the second half.If Celtic can cut out the mstakes and start taking there chances they should get up the table.:ball:
