i'm sorry Den Perry for not puting my comma's and question marks in the text, is there any other english lessons you would like to give me?. I know for fact what happened that day is all i was saying. I believe closure was looked for on the situation so stop dragging your heels over it again please!
Jug I don't think he was getting at you for your comma's and questions marks, just meerly that he couldn't make head nor tail of your post.....The english lessons were pointed towards "the txt writer" tippsouth I think....
The conversation about the peake/grattan day is long over and we have moved on along since then...
Yes it looks like Town's title, can't see them slip at this stage of the league, as you said with their exit from the FAI all concentration will be on the league and Munster now. To tell you the truth I can't see the two clashes between Town and Saints ending up in draws, as nice as it would be to see a 3 way run-in for the title....
i heard barnesey got shown a straight red today playing for clonmel town B team. will he be suspended for the munster junior cup game next weekend?
surely barnes is not eligible to play for b side
my uderstanding of the rules is that you can only play five games or cup game and then you can no longer play in a lower divison?????
john shanahan, darren burns were both playing aswel with the B team, i think its only goin by league games which i think is very unfair
Killusty FC v Bansha Celtic
Two Mile Borris v Kilmanahan United
St. Michael’s B v Glengoole United
St. Kieran's FC v Rock Rovers
Old Bridge FC v Ballingarry Albion
Cashel Town v Clonmel Town B
Killenaule Rovers v Peake Villa
Sarsfield Rovers v Clonmel Celtic
Lads,
Any info on the rumour that 'Blossom' Quinlivan is taking over as manager of Clonmel Town next season? I had heard that Charlie McCeaver was getting involved with Clonmel Commercials GAA, but didn't know that he was leaving Clonmel Town in the process!
Any truth?
Not confirmed yet but it would be the likeliest scenario if Charlie goes.
Anyone at the Peake v. Kinsale game. 5-5 and Peake sneak it on peno's.
Sounds exciting!
I heard they were 3-0 up at half time. 5-5 after extra time. They won 9-8 on peno's. 28 goals !!! Sound exciting alright.
I heard peake didn't play 3 of their first 11 because they are meant to be signing for a League of Ireland team. Ted O'Connor, Foggy Fogarty and Aaron Ryan, heard they travelled but weren't played at all.
they are 3 quality players would bewell able for the step up to eircom league big loss to peake. any other tsdl players signing for them think anthony glasheen from saint michaels is signed for them too
I heard Eoin o Shea from Peake was signing for them as well so thats 4 starting players. Ted and Foggy are the biggest loses!
Dats not good news for peake..losing 4 of their first team players and peake are still invloved in the MJC and Tipp Cup. They might just find it hard for the rest of the season....
Anybody know exactly what league of ireland team they are signing for...is it Limerick 37, I heard rumours of Kilk City ?
Its Kilkenny city......its on Peake Villas website in the match report for the Kinsale game.
http://www.peakevilla.com/web/news.asp?NewsID=94
how come all there good players are going? doesnt really make sence, there top of d league, fav's 4 d tipp cup nd in the quarters of munster.
how do u mean van?? are things not good behind closed doors. i always would have taught peake had a good set up no? i know its been neglected in recent years but they seemed to be gettin back on track this year.
There is word dat dere is hardly no money to spend down in Kilkenny this year alot of players are on ameatur contracts down there.set-up isnt supposed to be great either but ya never know could pick up because it is only pre-season!!!
Wouldn't know how things are behind closed doors up there. I wud have taught they had a good enough season, did/doing ok in the league, unlucky in the FAI, still in the Munster JC and in with a shout of the Tipp Cup. But I'm sure there is money to hand in Kil City so any young lad these days I'm sure wud welcome an extra few euros a week to play football....
From what I am hearing from Thurles people, things aren't the best in Peake at the moment. I heard the committee and players are at war with each other over a number of issues. I wouldn't blame the 4 lads for leaving them if this is true. And I'd hardly call the money any of them will be getting as a wage! They will spend most of it on petrol and making up for the money they'll be loosing out from work through matchs and training. Besides they're taking a step up in their careers. You could hardly expect them to turn down such a golden oppertunity. Best of luck to the four of them!
I certainly dont't think the 4 players left because of the issues with the committee...u kinnda contradict your yourself there..One minute your blaming them for leaving because of the commitee war and the next things you are sayin they are steppin up their careers. I'm sure all the players were aware of the expense of travelling to and from games and the money expense that it would cost them...At the end of the day it not about a "war" that is going on, they are trying to see if anything else is out there, players have done this before in Peake, Foggy Fogarty played a season with Saints, Barry Ryan also played with Clonmel Town, the Roscrea players in their day were over and back to Peake as well from club to club...so it doesn't seem unusual for this to happen to Peake. Maybe it's just the fact that their is 4 going at one time. There are not many games left in the league at this stage so it's ample time to move. MJC might be out of their reach, and pitting the chances of winning a Tipp Cup against playing with a League of Irleland team !!! I think the answer is obvious really...At this stage there is not much left for Villa, with those players or not, the Tipp Cup might have been their only chances of silver ware out of this season. Any with those players gone now, the other teams will be aware of their weakness in fielding a full good team for the Tipp Cup and most of their 2nd team have already played Tipp Cup football and are Cup-Tied. So it will be interesting to see.
maybe through about peake but i taught with the 4 lads in there side they were very strong. especially at the back they were very organised. foggy was having a great season out wide and and they were strong up front and in central midfield. I think they would have rattled the munster junior this year at full strength. but ya never know they have nothing to fear if there playing grattan in quarters so they could still make the semis. they should still have enough in reserve for tipp cup. borris be main rivals . only other teams left innit be the bridge or clonmel celtic.dont think any lower division teams will beat any of the prem teams left. rock rovers will self destruct if there in a close game ( sendings off etc) . Michaels B are only other team in it with a shout
The Draw for the Quarter-finals of the Cup
St. Michael’s B (Div 1) vTwo Mile Borris (Premier)
Ballingarry Albion (Div 1) v St. Kieran's FC (Div 4) or Rock Rovers (Div 1)
Killenaule Rovers (Div 3) v Peake Villa (Premier) v Cashel Town (Div 2) v Clonmel Town B (Div 2)
Clonmel Celtic (Premier) v Killusty FC (Div 1) or Bansha Celtic (Premier)
yeah think st michaels b will be very hard to beat. but borris might have enough. be very tough match. rock rovers if they win have ballingarry away. world war 3 might erupt in that one
Pity the club didn't wish them luck in their notes in the local paper after the report on the "historic" win.Two of the players are playing with the club since they were eight years old. Then again, I suppose some people are just bitter... Great result, but what exactly was historic, bearig in mind Villa were in the final of the competition a few years ago. who is responsible for this tripe? and the writer talks about the committment of those that played. Pity the same can't be said of certain people on the committee who don't bother going to that many matches that the club they hold so dear to their hearts are involved in,and, is it the same person who neglected to write a match report for the b game last Sunday?
The secretary of the club that wrote in that report wasn’t even in Kinsale so who’s he to be questioning commitment of players. I saw him walking around the town that afternoon with his baldy headed friend. Take the Town or Michael’s committee. Any time you travel to their grounds, you're always offered a cup of tea or something by a committee member. In Villa none of this happens unless the manager or Martin Turner asks you. As if they haven’t enough to be doing. I think Peake should get them selves in order before they go making such accusations about players that have left the club. As for that match being a historic fixture! Hardly, they've beaten Kinsale already this season and they were in the final 3 years ago. But then again maybe it is because if thigs stay going as they are in Thurles, they won't be getting back their any time soon.
whats wrong with you? four first players walk out whlile the team are top of the league with three matches to go. in the 1/4 of mjc and tipp cup
and you expect the committee to give them a send off -
what about there teammates ??? especially if they played with the club ":since they were since they eight years old" - which i very much doubt
and your complaining about a B team report?
its you who sounds bitter mate! if it makes that much difference to you
why dont you join the committee and makes the changes for within
instead of bitching ! that was also peake villa problem "bitching and sh*t stirring"
wheres the reports gone from the website?????
tell the forum the truth on that one?
I see that Town and Michael's drew at the weekend. It's fairly tight at the top now:
Team Played Won Drew Lost Points
St. Michael's FC 12 9 2 1 29
Clonmel Town 11 9 2 0 29
Town might have the game in hand but you'd have to say that their run-in is tougher:
St. Michael's FC: Old Bridge (H) Clonmel Celtic (A) Clonmel Town (H) Borris (A)
Clonmel Town: St. Nicholas (H) Peake Villa (A) Borris (A) Clonmel Celtic (A) St. Michael's (A)
Both Peake and Celtic would have to win all of their games left and hope for results to go their way to have any chance - in reality it's a two horse race (as usual) - but they could still play a part in who takes the title between the big two. I'd still fancy Town to do it though.
it will be close again think this could be saints year in league and town to retain munster cup. division 1 and 2 also look very tight at the top.
think rosegreen and rock rovers will get promotion from div 1 with oldbridge getting relegated with nicholas's.
moyglass and cashel should get promotion from div 2.
please learn to use proper grammer. It is very hard to argue with an illiterate!
Yes, two of those players did play since they were eight years old...and i'll have a bet with you on that, Mr I Love Villa
the vast majority of the players had no problem with the guys leaving and even wished them luck. You are just a bitter little man!
Ok, so they are in quarter final of Tipp Cup, MJC etc, but I know if I was given a choice of staying at a club where nobody trains and moving to LOI I'd be on my way. Have you ever heard of PROGRESSION dumbo?
If one was to follow your irrational line of argument, Kevin Doyle should not have left Cork City to go to Reading, Roy Keane left Cobh Ramblers to go to Forest, or Shane Long left St Michaels to go to Cork City..its all about moving onto a higher level. Now get over your jealousy
