Rob Slevin signing for Galway,Ollie recruiting already!
Colm Whelan confirmed to Derry. The UCD rout is complete.
Ethan Boyle signing for Wexford, decent signing for them that….
Two good signings for Galway and Wexford.
Slevin is a good quality defender who came out the right side of a nasty injury spell at Cork. Wasn't without injury issues this past season either, but if he stays injury free he's a cracking player.
dan mcdonnell seemed to be implying rovers would stump up money for him, madness IMO.
on slevin, good signing for galway. annoyed we didnt keep a hold of him this year as he is better than some of the lads we played with this season but i suppose the bad back injury was enough to put healy off.
Dave Webster signed for Bray
McMillan was superb for Dundalk, IMO his swansong was the hatrick in the 2020 cup final, to be fair that season he did score some big goals in europe earlier that same year, including the group stage.
From 2021 onwards he struggled a little, def picked it up from end of summer this season, and a big goal v Bohs to all but confirm europe, a classy player, made a massive contribution to the emergence of DFC as heavy weight from mid 10's, and for the recovery from 2021 - last season. He will go down as one of the all time great Dundalk strikers, and his place in history books for the club is secured.
His time was up though, and correct decision to release him.

Kevin Doherty working off a smaller budget than last year at the minute,be tougher for the Drogs next year….
Conor Davis on his tour of Ireland has now landed in Bray!
assume ryan will announce aaron dobbs soon enough? he was more impressive for me than davis, though neither is a real goalscorer.
Odumosu signed up on new deal
Excellent. Of the first choice 11 and main subs at end of last season we now have everyone back for 2023 except Cotter (expected but not yet signed) and O'Reilly (back with Preston); plus Lonergan. Not a bad state of affairs on December 1st. Quite a few who weren't figuring will undoubtedly depart leaving a budget for 3 or 4 significant signings. Happy days.
Dave Rogers is the new Harps manager apparently. Looks a good appointment on the face of it.
Chris McCann and Viktor Serdeniuk leave Shamrock Rovers…
As does Aidomo Emakhu for Millwall, seems premature when he hasn't started many games in Tallaght yet?

Open to correction by others who'd have watched him more, but he really hasn't stood out to me any time I've seen him. Would be surprised to see him "make it" over there but best of luck to him.
Karl Chambers another one gone from Longford-Wexford, and another one I'm not too bothered about leaving*. A good servant who gave it his all but also not good enough.
*assuming we're not going to be completing the love triangle between Wexford, Bray and ourselves by signing all of Bray's duds from last season. If that happens then yes I am sorry to see these lads leave us for Wexford.
Matty Smith now confirmed as a permanent signing for Shels
Burt gone to Rovers and Akintunde to Bohs
Dave Rogers confirmed as Harps manager on a 4 year full time deal. Really optimistic about this. Progressive coach and wants to play football the right way.

Alan Mannus signed up for next season
Thomas Oluwa signed for Waterford…11 goals last season in a struggling team is a decent return….
4 year deal seems pretty long. I could be wrong, but it will all end in tears- sure just look at his list of clubs to see he doesnt last too long anywhere.
Personally, Rogers is the most vapid/ bulls**t artist I ever heard. Plenty of rumours of his behaviour when he was involved in junior clubs in the North East too and I always find it funny that he is so heavily linked with Liverpools academy but was never based in England.
He is popular in Dundalk, some people wanted him as manager last year, and it seems he gets on with a certain kind of people. Others not so much. It will be intresting anyways at Harps for the next season...
Dean Williams from Drogheda to Bohs confirmed too
Potentially 2 decent signings for boez there.
The dogs in the street knew Burt was signing for Rovers so no surprise there.
Alan Mannus signing for another year is the best signing of the season for Rovers. Shame to lose Zinedine McCann as he was our best player in Europe imo.
Greener and Kavo staying for another year is a discussion point amongst Rovers fans for sure.
Has any player or manger ever in LOI history received a four year full-time contract? That is utterly mental by Harps, I don't think it takes any genius to work out statistically that not many LOI managers last 4 years without getting the bullet, going to be awkward for them if they are struggling next summer in the bottom of half of the table
Rogers is a marmite character going by his time at Shels. I suspect Harps are betting he has developed an extensive network of contacts in his coaching career to bring in developing players from outside of Ireland to Harps which ironically worked out disastrously for them last season
Sam Verdon confirmed as signing on for another year with us on town website. Its a start I suppose but Verdon does divide opinion amongst Town fans though.
Brian Gartland retired,5 leagues,3 FAI cups and 3 League cups is some going.....
Brian Gartland is just such a super story for Dundalk, and really encapsulate a lot about the rise of Dundalk in the 2010s. I don't think many teams would have fancied him much when Dundalk signed him in 2013- and his last two teams were Monaghan and Portadown don't suggest the career that he went on to have.
An absoulte gent off the pitch too.
Not to get too emotional about it, but his goal vs Cork in 2014 might be the single greatest moment I have ever experienced. Having started following Dundalk when they were in the depths of the First, I really couldnt imagine ever winning the league, and was pinching myself going to Oriel that night. If that team peaked that day, I still would have been happy. If you care, this clip is on repeat when im hungover

There is similar feelings around McMilian. His european campaigns were immense. Him and O'Donnell really never looked out of placed in every European game and nearly suited european games more than LOI.
Dundalk has a rich history, and its beyond a pleasure to have witness so many great players add to it.
