I don't think Palace are completely happy with Henderson and Johnstone - I think Travers would be going there to compete for the job.

Well Johnstone seems to be going, so it would be Henderson v Travers. The problem is that I'm not sure Travers' all round game is good enough to win that battle. I'd rather see him playing regularly in the Championship and improving through experience, but I appreciate Palace will likely be able to blow most Championship teams out of the water in terms of wages.
Blackburn appear to have moved on to someone else now.
Kepa confirmed now on loan for the season with no option to buy. Would assume Bournemouth will only let him leave on loan for this season.
Talk of Neto going to Arsenal to replace Ramsdale, meaning Travers will be forced to stay put.

Forced to stay put and start? Is he still #2 behind Neto there?
Kepa and Neto. Nominative determinism at its best.
Starts tonight against Chelsea.
Makes him by my count the 13th Irish player to feature in the Premier League this season. Not bad despite our supposed poor squad - you could pick a full team of Irish Premier League players from this season and have a couple of subs left over.
He's only playing because Kepa can't play against his parent club (Chelsea) but Travers hasn't put a foot wrong so far.
We're doing a bit better there than we were. I'd rather more of them were starting, and not so many of them were likely to be in the mix for relegation, but it beats calling up league 1 players.
Travers' career isn't all that critical to our success really. He seems unlikely to push his way into starting for us, and he's fantastic cover. Still, for his own sake, you'd hope he can pick up more games here and there this year.
Worth remembering that Kepa, for all criticism he has faced is, at €80m by far and away the most expensive goalkeeper in history. That's who Travers is up against as competition.
The second most expensive goalkeeper? Of course that's Kelleher's rival for the no.1 shirt at Liverpool, Alison.
When people unfairly make unflattering comparisons of Kelleher, Bazunu and Travers and very mediocre GKs from the past like Forde and Randolph, it's should be considered at just how high a level these guys are operating. Certainly the most talented collection of goalkeepers we've had in my time watching Ireland.
Had to dig down a few pages to find Travers' thread, but he got a start today for Bournemouth as Kepa was injured and was apparently outstanding. Would be good to see him get a run of games off the back of it, if there's not a lot between the two keepers you would think it would make sense for Bournemouth to stick with their own contracted goalkeeper. Kepa is likely more comfortable playing out from the back than Travers though.
FWIW Travers has made more Premier League Appearances than Kelleher - 21 v 17. He has also scored more senior goals - 1 v 0
Just caught the highlights on Match of the Day,made some great saves….
Has impressed now in both PL games he played this season, the other being against Chelsea.
Got 9/10 in the Sunday Times match report.
Restricted the Mighty Manchester City to one goal - highlights showed he wasn't as busy as against Villa (where he got his own highlights package!) but did make a couple of scramble saves to safeguard the victory

Travers drops out again today - would take that to mean that it's in Kepa's contract that, outside of games against Chelsea, when he's fit he plays.
Kepa beaten at his near post from a ridiculously tight angle there.
Travers should feel hard done . Better keeper than Kapa
Starts today at home to Everton, his fourth Premier League start of the season. Anyone know why? Kepa is on the bench, so presumably healthy.
Kepa not starting due to the birth of his twins apparently.
7.3 rating today
I have to say I feel sorry for him, one poor game v Serbia and he's now deemed an also ran.
Bazunu has to prove that he can come back from a pretty serious injury ~ Not certain by any means.
Sounds like he had a quiet game yesterday and a handy clean sheet. The issue still seems to be that his distribution isn't as good as Kepa's. Bournemouth's next two games are a cup game and then away to Chelsea where Kepa can't play against his parent club, so hopefully Travers will get a little run of games for now at least. Right now he's second choice for us with Bazunu out so it's good that he's getting a few games in case anything happens to Kelleher.
Having an excellent game against Chelsea tonight by all accounts (although just as I type that, Chelsea make it 2-2 in injury time)
Chelsea with 10 shots on target to Bournemouth's 3, so Travers playing a big part in earning a point (it seems; still a couple of minutes to go)
Though across a small set of games (5), Travers currently tops the PL save percentage (80%) and is second in average goals prevented (4.49) after the Leicester keeper.
Looks like he's off to Middlesbrough.
"With Sol Brynn out long-term after dislocating his shoulder, the need for a goalkeeper ramped up at the end of last week when Dieng underwent Achilles surgery and will also now be out long-term, leaving Tom Glover as Boro's only senior keeper.
....Travers appeared close to joining Boro only for an injury to third-choice keeper Will Dennis to delay that. Travers has subsequently been on the bench for the Cherries' last two games. At this stage, it's uncertain whether Bournemouth can now let Travers go or not, with Boro believed to have alternative targets should they need to look elsewhere". (Teeside Live, 27 Jan).
Having a medical in Middlesbrough today, according to Teesside Live.
Bournemouth couldn’t allow him to leave until after their Premier League clash with Chelsea on 14 January (because Kepa couldn't play against his parent club), then Bournemouth 3rd choice Will Dennis was injured, but he has now resumed training, so Travers can go.
Should be a good move for Travers. Boro are in the playoff positions and Travers showed a few years ago he's a very good keeper at this level. Hopefully this move can lead to move in the summer for Travers.
