Ya well that's obvious isn't it, sorry I should have said two "other" Clare lads .not that hibs see much of the ball . ( joke ) . your right about young shire but I think he has moved to AA or corbally .
Ally McMillan is playing Aisling Annacotty
]Simply put No. Also note the reference to "the past few years", it will be important for the remainder of this post.
O my god unbelievable
As the answer to your first question is no it would be obvious that the answer to this one is, yes you have guessed it, No.
Again OMG
Now back to the important reference "to the past few years", the answer being enough to form an opinion over the performance of the past few years and give my opinion on those in comparison to this years squad. I am curious as to why you are only interested in the 12 years you mention. This would lead me to think you had an active part in those years and your posts are more in response on a personal level as oppose to discussing the initial subject of the improvement in the last 6 months and the comparative improvement in that period and the period which I expanded to the past few years to include the 2010 squad. And there was me thinking you were only responsible for the poor display last year.
I'll have to do some more detective work :)[/QUOTE]
I ask about these 12 years as I know you have not been at any of these matches besides the 2 finals . If what you mean by active is have I been a true supporter in these 12 years well then yes I have played an active role .
I have probably been at every home match since 1995 and a lot of the away matches when the missus was not giving out . I do not remember seen you at any of these matches but maybe I am wrong you could have been at some of them . I was not in at the Limerick match this year so do not know what improvement was made in these six months. I have seen the team sheet though and it looks to be a different team to the one that played Sunday . This might explain the major improvement in six months . I do however remember Clare going into Limerick in 2004 and that day the played some exellent football ,passed it from the back to the front and the majority of players were technically good and not afraid to get on the ball . They got a draw that day because of some mad decisions by the ref and who could forget Brian's miss from six yards right at the death when the keeper was nowhere in sight . This is just 1 example I could go on about other matches when Clare played great football but do not want to bore people they are more than likely sick of the two of us at this stage .
Anyway best of luck with the detective work ;) and hopefully next year Clare under Liam's guidance can bring the Oscar Traynor trophy home again
He played with AA at the start of the season for definite, has he played for Newmarket yet??
tulla seem to be hit and miss this season,, they have a brilliant win vs newmarket and then get well beaten against avenue, were they missing players? i see david mcarthy got a hattrick,, he has been scoring freely for club and county
i cant see burren staying in premier going on their form, beaten by inch who are 2nd bottom in the first yesterday wont help the morale
Mouldedstuds, I think the League is going to be very up and down this year. A lot of the teams are fairly well matched and even the top 2 teams Newmarket and Avenue are beatable. Hopefully we'll see a tight league and I really think it could go down to the wire this year.
Avenue are going well but seem to have a small squad. That might come against them in the latter stages when games are coming thick and fast
Yes I agree. Avenue only had 12 players Against lifford. So when mid week games come they could struggle. Rock can beat anyone on their day but too inconsistent to win league. I'd say Newmarket to maybe sneak it over avenue. Rock 3rd
Tage and burren to drop down
Burren for the drop after that result at weekend.
Prego Menswear Clare Cup Round 3
Newmarket Celtic A V Bridge Utd A
Avenue Utd A V Bridge Celtic
Manus Celtic V Mountshannon Celtic
Rhine Rovers V Tulla Utd A
Lifford A V Ennis Town Rock A
Kilkishen Celtic V Connolly Celtic A
Ruan Utd V Ennis Town Rock B
Corofin Harps V Hermitage B
League starting to take shape now. Big game Sunday for league honours..Could long way to deciding it. Avenue looking very strong at the moment.
Huge game sunday, massive. Great win yesterday for yerselves. Some penalty ;) league taking shape for sure, looks like burren and rhine for the drop at this stage but lots to play for yet
Some penalty is right Mastermind. A casual chip into the top corner!!! poor game though and Tage probably deserved the win because of their fight. I thought Rock would be in a lot better shape at this stage. Avenue v Newmarket on Sunday could be a cracker
Avenue utd 3-0 newmarket celtic
Connolly celtic 4-2 rhine rovers
League over now in my opinion, be very hard to catch avenue. Any report on any of the games tonight?
I see Newmarket b and inch was abandoned???
Connolly V Tage 2 all...Draw probl a fair result. tage went up 1 nil after ten mins but Connolly got 2 goals from set pieces before half. Tage fought hard in second half and got deserved equaliser. Greg howard sent off for two yellows. Both sides had chances to win. Also think another connolly player sent off at the end, think Yan feck. Connolly dangerous from set plays but thats about it. Pitch out there doesnt help either.
Looks like Newmarket are out of the chase for the title after their bad loss to Lifford , - just woundering with the loss of Stephen , Enda Kelly , Kieran Devitt { the former Rovers lads } has this taken the bite out of the push for the 3 in a row . Avenue's to lose now IMO .
It looks like the league is over alright and Avenue's results have been impressive. Planners, the lads you mentioned would be a big loss to any team. Its also hard to keep a run like theirs going for as long as they managed it.
i agree planners, the rineanna boys were massive additions to nwmkt n contributed to their success, without them they havent reached the heights of last 2 seasons, hard to keep it going every year, cant see avenue blowing the lead they have,, cup should be interesting with strong teams left in qf's when is the draw?
Newmarket only had the Rineanna boys last season they won the league the year before as well
You would think the league was over. Newmarket have 9 games left and if they were to win them all, and they are capable of it, they won't be too far off.
Stupid by Connolly to play an illegal player in the cup considering they have member on the Clare committee.
Must be an embarrassment to mike Leydon, have kilkishen been awarded the tie?
Going to assume this was an error by Connolly and the league will give a report on the outcome if of course Kilkishen have lodged an objection. Have they?
Anyway, on another matter well done to Avenue in finally moving into their new home in Roslevan. Well done and the best of luck with it all. Although I do hope there are more home losses than wins there. :)
Ya Kilkishen have lodged an appeal which is going in front of the clare league at a meeting on Monday night. Rather embarrasing for Lydon alright espically considering he was at the match in question. Kilkishen even had three players suspended for the match aswell but didnt play any of them obviously. Have it good authority that connelly arent going to contest the appeal so not sure what happens next. Do Kilkishen get the result or what happens?
if connolly played an illegal player then kilkishen will be awarded the tie.
congrats to avenue on the new grounds, looks decent
Mountshannon Celtic W/O Burren United Scr.
Are they going to give everyone a WO?
On the league table they have 0 points, they had 3, have they pulled out?
No update on the CDSL site.
If you give a walkover you also lose an additional 3 points
Donie not involved with them this season. Disgraceful stuff to be throwing out walkovers in the Premier. Burren will be in big trouble if they give another one.
Rule 47:
a) Teams failing to fulfill fixtures shall be fined €125 and deducted 3 (three) points where applicable for each failure.
c) A Junior team who fails to fulfill a fixture on 2 (two) occasions during a season, shall be automatically suspended from the Clare League for the rest of the season and the following one. This team will also have to pay a bond of €250 to come back into the League.
Kilkishen Celtic won their appeal against Connelly Celtic last night and are into the last eight instead of connelly
Cup draw
Newmarket v Avenue
Tulla v Mountshannon
Kilkishen v Lifford
Corofin v Ruan
Clare people tipping Newmarket for the cup win. Surely avenue would be slight favourites considering the form of both teams.
