Recovered from a massive hard drive failure to update the stats site, bringing everything up to date up to Wednesday night's games: http://irish-abroad.appspot.com/GameDayDetails
I'll complete the updates for the rest of December tomorrow, then compile the monthly stats for the season so far, as well as the complete stats for the 6 months
I've compiled the monthly stats for November, and December and for the season to date: http://irish-abroad.appspot.com/MonthlyStats?month=13
Some of the standout stats for me:
Andy Reid has been introduced from the bench more than anyone else
Backing up some earlier comments about the importance of Keith Andrews' goals, he's scored in eight games, resulting in five wins
Paddy McCarthy starting and completing 25 games, and winning 14 of them
Jon Daly is the top scoring player so far this season, justifying some recent links with Wigan, among others
The twitter feed is here for live updates - http://www.twitter.com/irish_abroad
Or if you're not on twitter you can just leave the live blog open on matchday for automatic updates - http://irish-abroad.appspot.com/Live
Eoin Doyle started on the bench for Hibs today, just came on
Richie Ryan rumoured to be be involved in the Dundee game later this afternoon
And just like that I jinx it and McCarthy is out of the Palace team for the early kick off against Leicester. According to a few mentions on twitter, he has a virus
Terry Dixon's just scored against the Zimmers :D
Under 19 international Neill Byrne has joined Rochdale http://www.fai.ie/international/unde...-football.html?
Shane O'Connor on trial at Southend: http://www.itfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetai...565661,00.html
Wigan interested in signing Keith Andrews according to the Daily Mirror.
There is a calum reilly on bench 18 year old winger for birmingham wonder is he eligible
rodgers on bench for brighton still eligible for our under 19s this season I think
Bonham sub keeper for watford
Lots of Irish players getting Premier League starts today.

Was Wilsons transgression really that bad that he gets dropped by Tets!
Definitive list:
Cox, Gibson, Duffy, Clark, Ireland, Dunne, Given, Foley, Ward, McClean, O'Shea, Duff, Kelly, Hoolahan, Pilkington, Wilson, Walters, Whelan, Delap.
Bench: Long, Keane, Hunt, Doyle, Westwood, Meyler.
Watch it all going down in real time on the site here: http://irish-abroad.appspot.com/Live
It's like teletext!
So if Robbie Keane comes on for Villa in the second half, that will be 5 RoI internationals on the field - Given, Dunne, Clark, Ireland*-Keane. That must be up there with the highest numbers in recent years?
*ex international :p
Best I can find in the Irish Abroad database in the Premier League is Man City VS Sunderland from 2007 with 6 players
5-Nov-2007
Manchester City 1-0 Sunderland
Manchester City's starting players: Richard Dunne Stephen Ireland
Sunderland's starting players: Ian Harte Anthony Stokes(substituted on 58 minutes) Liam Miller Daryl Murphy(substituted on 58 minutes)
Sunderland's substitutes: Graham Kavanagh David Connolly
Overall, the most players I have is nine starting players in two separate games - Sunderland - Luton in 2007 and Ipswich - Scunthorpe in 2010
13-Mar-2010
Ipswich 1-0 Scunthorpe
Ipswich's starting players: David Norris Damien Delaney Brian Murphy Jonathan Walters Owen Garvan(substituted on 74 minutes) Daryl Murphy(substituted on 50 minutes) Shane O'Connor
Scunthorpe's starting players: Joe Murphy Cliff Byrne
Scunthorpe's substitutes: Donal McDermott
9-Dec-2006
Sunderland 2-1 Luton
Sunderland's starting players: Stephen Elliott Liam Miller Graham Kavanagh David Connolly(substituted on 78 minutes) Daryl Murphy
Luton's starting players: Dean Kiely Kevin Foley Lewis Emanuel David Bell
He must've meant on one team as Gibson and Duffy also played in that match.
Good day for the Irish in the Championship, 4 sendings off - Scannell, Chambers, Norris and Alan Dunne. Could have been 5 as ex U21 Shane Lowry joined Dunne as Millwall lost 6-0 to Birmingham, Rooney scoring.
A guy I used to work with has been helping me update the look of the stats site so it doesn't look like something a first year knocked together the night before the assignment was due.
The player details page is the first one to be completed, and you can see the fruits of his labours here: http://irish-abroad.appspot.com/PlayerDetails
A similar look and feel will be rolled out to the rest of the pages over the next few weeks.
Not a bad 22 starting this weekend.
Code:Given Kenny
Foley Duffy Dunne Wilson
Kelly O'Shea Clark Ward
Pilkington Gibson Ireland McClean
Delap Whelan McCarthy Duff
Cox Walters
Best Hoolahan
Aston Villa Reserves 7 Wolves Reserves 1 today
Aaron McCarey played the full match in goal for Wolves, apparently did quite well for Wolves even with the 7 goals, I guess could've ben much worse. Enda Stevens and Derrick Williams both played 90 for Villa in defence, Samir Carruthers also started and was taken off after 71 minutes. Micky Drennan also came on after 81 minutes. Villa did have a pretty strong side out with guys like Bannan, Delfouneso, and a few others with first team experience.
Commentator on the QPR - MK Dons match just said Trap should have a look at Darren Potter, Stephen Gleeson, and Shaun Williams as well :D
Hibs linked with Rhys Murphy and Jim Goodwin

Owen Garvan nabs a penalty to put Palace up 1-0 at HT against Blackpool.
According to the Daily Mail, Crystal Palace have made a 400,000 offer fro Damien Delaney. Becoming a very Irish defence there.
Sean Murray starts for Watford v Tottenham tonight. Mark Yeates on the bench.
Murray had two good chances, the second one hitting the post - it was actually a great save by Cudicini. Taken off after 70 minutes with cramp and replaced by Yeates. He was probably Watford's best player on the ball but he is quite slow.
Yep, was very impressed by him. A right footed player on the left side of midfield, certainly did very well defensively whether it was covering for Doyley when he went up or applying pressure in Tottenham's half. Took Watford's set pieces as well. The first chance was a decent strike that Cudicini struggled with, thought he really should've taken the second but it wasn't a bad effort. In spite of that though, I didn't see too much attacking impetus from him, didn't really take on defenders (Walker was marking him) nor do I remember him putting in any crosses from open play. Looked like he was shattered though after about 67 minutes when Yeates replaced him. Agree with you as well doesn't have much pace about him for someone playing on the wing. This was only his third Watford appearance and against a side third in the EPL, so one to watch for I suppose.
Adam Rooney grabs Birminghams second from close range against Sheffield United. His 5th of the season for Birmingham i believe.
There could be a fourth round shock on the cards as Clinton Morrison puts Sheffield Wednesday ahead with an impressive lobbed finish for his third goal of the season. Blackpool pay the price for a host of missed first-half chances.
yep, from close in again.
John Sheridan's Chesterfield through to Johnstone's Paint Trophy Final...no Irish players though. Pretty dull semifinal 2nd leg as well.
Monthly stats for January available now on Irish Abroad: http://irish-abroad.appspot.com/MonthlyStats?month=1
Strangely, no defender was substituted more than once. Very strange
John O'Shea and James McClean, along with Anthony Stokes, top the wins table with four apiece (unsurprisingly). The Sunderland pair were also joint top of the starters table, appearing in the starting XI six times with O'Shea completing 90 minutes in each one. McClean also scored twice, with Sunderland going on to win both games
Stokes was also the clear top scorer in January, with six goals, twice as many as any other player, surprisingly none of these were scored at Celtic Park and Celtic went on to win each game.
James McCarthy had a terrible month, losing four games
Probably an oversight, but Stephen Ward doesn't appear on any 25 man Wolves squad lists I've seen reported.
http://www.espn.co.uk/football/sport/story/134339.html
Edit: It is an oversight obviously, listed here:
http://www.wolves.co.uk/page/News/0,...597014,00.html
James McCarthy is also missing but he was under 21 on the 1/1/11
Aston Villa Ciaran Clark Richard Dunne Robbie Keane. Shay Given Stephen Ireland Everton Darron Gibson Seamus Coleman Fulham Damien Duff Stephen Kelly Newcastle Leon Best Robert Elliot Norwich Anthony Pilkington Wes Hoolahan Marc Tierney QPR Brian Murphy Paddy Kenny Stoke Rory Delap Jon Walters Glenn Whelan Marc Wilson Sunderland John O’Shea Kieren Westwood James McClean David Meyler West Brom Keith Andrews Simon Cox Shane Long Steven Reid Wigan Conor Sammon Wolves Stephen Hunt Stephen Ward Kevin Doyle Kevin Foley
Stephen Folan has stated via his Twitter account that he has been released by Newcastle.
Tuesday, February 7th:
Damian Scannell and Daryl McMahon with two of Eastleigh's goals in their 3-2 victory over Havant and Waterlooville...Grenadian Bradley Bubb with the third.
Sam Foley with a goal for Newport County in their 4-0 FA Trophy victory over Carshalton Athletic.
Villa reserves beat Fulham reserves 3-0...Williams, Stevens, Carruthers, and Burke all started with the latter two getting goals in the match (and Stevens assisting on Carruthers'). Drennan replaced Burke in the 77th minute. Sean Kavanagh of Fulham is also Irish and played 90 minutes.
